Thor: Love and Thunder is only months away from its premiere, which will feature the titular god of thunder for the very first time since Avengers: Endgame. The Taika Waititi-directed fourth Thor film will showcase the debut of Christian Bale's Gor the God Butcher in his crusade to kill the gods.

However, some have questioned whether Gor is truly the main antagonist of the film, or if he will have help along the way in the form of the long-rumored Amora the Enchantress. If this classic comic book villain does make her MCU debut in this film, certain Redditors have already selected which actresses they want to take on the role.

Yvonne Strahovski

In a long Reddit thread discussing potential actresses to play the Thor villain, Redditor IronManiacMkVII chimes in that they would like to "submit Yvonne Strahovski for the running." Strahovski is known for her roles in popular television series such as ChuckDexter, and will soon be reprising her role in the much-anticipated fifth season of The Handmaid's Tale.

Strahovski had been a reliable talent in the industry for many years, often playing capable women in powerful positions. Her role as Serena Joy Waterford in Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale has already displayed how callous and calculating a character the actress is capable of playing, which would come in handy should she be cast in the role of Amora the Enchantress.

Elizabeth Banks

Redditor rkkim offers a tidbit of MCU trivia alongside their fan-casting for the Enchantress: "Elizabeth Banks wanted to be Gamora in GOTG. She'd make a pretty good Amora." Fans may recognize Banks for her work in The Hunger GamesPower Rangers, and Charlie's Angels (2019).

Elizabeth Banks has been a major Hollywood powerhouse both in front of the screen and in the director's chair for years, maintaining an impressive career so far. Interestingly, her character Rita Repulsa in the Power Rangers movie seems to take several cues from the Enchantress herself, right down to the green color scheme. Perhaps Banks is willing to take her prowess with villainous characters into the MCU.

Christina Hendricks

One Redditor, R_manOz, has a strong preference for actors who should play the Enchantress in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, stating that their "fancast for her will be Christina Hendricks," going on to cite such a casting as their "dream."

Hendricks, best known for her roles in Mad Men, Good Girls, and Drive, is no stranger to playing the bad guy. Not only did she portray a morally ambiguous businesswoman in the Tim Roth series Tin Star, but she also voiced the empathetic baddie Gabby Gabby in Pixar's Toy Story 4. A popular fan-cast for the role, Hendricks could very well become the live-action Enchantress.

Betty Gilpin

When prompted to offer ideas for the live-action interpretation of Amora, Redditor tritrek said that they "want Betty Gilpin (from Glow) to play her." As the Reddit user mentions, Gilpin is best recognized for her role in the Netflix series Glow, for which she was nominated for three Emmy Awards.

Outside of her work on Glow, Gilpin had lent her talents to several darker projects, including The Hunt and The Grudge, proving that she is capable of nailing dramatic roles as well as comedic ones. Gilpin's characters often border on the unhinged, which could make for a great take on the villainous Enchantress.

Natalie Dormer

Redditor apolloc writes that "[Natalie] Dormer gets my vote, 100%," whilst also sharing a fully conceived fan theory that Dormer's minor character from Captain America: The First Avenger was Amora in disguise all along, plotting to cause trouble between Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter.

Natalie Dormer, most recognized for her work in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay and Game of Thrones, has found a considerable fanbase throughout her career, which would certainly be a desirable trait among whichever actress is cast in the role and has played plenty of conniving characters in the past, setting her up perfectly for one more.

Morena Baccarin

Reddit user tclark8995 wastes no time with explanation or reasoning, merely commenting the words "Morena Baccarin" when prompted with the potential to cast an actress to play Amora the Enchantress, letting the actress's talent speak for itself.

Baccarin is no stranger to the superhero genre, having served as the main character on Gotham, as well as Vanessa in the Deadpool franchise, whose death made for quite the shocking opening in Deadpool 2. The actress has also been experimenting with more sinister roles, including in her new NBC series The Endgame, which sees her play a character not dissimilar in personality from the Enchantress herself.

Alice Eve

According to some fans, certain choices speak for themselves. "I have always thought that Alice Eve would make the perfect Enchantress," writes Reddit user shogunskot, "just compare a photo of her to the Arthur Adams version of Enchantress in New Mutants Special Edition #1."

Alice Eve, made popular by her roles in the rebooted Star Trek franchise and Entourage, is perfectly suited to play a supervillain role and even did so for Marvel in the second season of Iron Fist. Should she return to the studio to play a different character, Amora would have to be distinct enough so as not to draw comparisons to her previous one.

Lena Headey

"Lena Headey," writes Reddit user dow366 when asked who would make the perfect Enchantress for the MCU. The English actress has become a household name thanks to her role as Cersei, a member of the ever-unpopular Lannister family in Game of Thrones.

Headey is perfectly suited to play a sinister and conniving villain akin to the Enchantress. Her various roles, especially that of Cersei Lannister, encapsulate her ability to play a morally depraved ruler intent on getting what she wants. As such, it just may be that her next big villainous role will be in service of Marvel Studios.

Vanessa Kirby

Vanessa Kirby White Widow

Revolutionary_Slip46 has their own choice to play Amora, writing "I would love Vanessa Kirby for the role." Kirby is an up-and-coming star, whom audiences are sure to see more of over the next few years, as studios begin to take notice of her talents.

Vanessa Kirby has had quite a stellar career so far, but one that could only be helped by a role in the MCU. The British actress has already proven quite capable in action-heavy roles, such as her appearance in Hobbs and Shaw. She also has experience with playing icy and morally ambiguous characters, such as the White Widow in Mission Impossible: Fallout. Portraying the live-action Enchantress would no doubt only go to further the career of this rising star.

Isla Fisher

B0zzyk seems quite sure in their pick getting the role, writing "it's almost confirmed that Isla Fisher is in [Love and Thunder], so I feel like she could be a solid choice." While it has been rumored for years that Fisher could be the MCU's Enchantress, Marvel has yet to confirm such a casting choice, or that Fisher is in the film at all.

While fans continue to speculate as to who could take on the role of Amora the Enchantress, Isla Fisher seems like a safe choice to play the Asgardian goddess. Not only does she have the acting chops to nail the role, but her casting would also keep in line with Marvel's tendency to cast Australian actors in the role of Norse gods, following Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Cate Blanchett as Hela. Though fans can speculate all they want regarding Fisher's secret casting, they may have to wait until this summer to find out whether the rumors were true.
