Celebrate MCU's 10th Anniversary With Awesome Character Posters

As Marvel Studios celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, a new collection of character posters featuring famous faces are released.

With the Marvel Cinematic Universe celebrating 10 years of box office domination, the studio has released a series of special edition character posters.

Although the 19th MCU movie will hit theaters on May 4, 2018 with Joe and Anthony Russo's Avengers: Infinity War, the world's highest-grossing franchise has another reason to celebrate on May 2. That's the date Jon Favreau's Iron Man premiered in 2008, meaning Marvel Studios will be having a year-long party to look back at the past decade of movies. Among the memories  - and ahead of Infinity War - are these brand new posters that give a closer look at some of Marvel's biggest names and the Hollywood stars behind them.

Appearing on Reddit, user realityavengers shared the character posters that feature all your favorite Avengers and other MCU heroes. Among the stars are a new-look Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans) picking up his shield once more, and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) sporting his shorter hair. Away from the main three, fans also get a closer look at Groot (Vin Diesel), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) with her old-school red hair, as opposed to her new blonde look. Also making their face known is Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther after riding on the success of his recent solo movie debut.

Screen Rant reached out to Marvel, who confirmed these are part of the 10th anniversary campaign but haven't been released directly in high-res online yet. Additionally, there's other artwork from the campaign you can see below:

We'll update if additional or official versions become available. As for the individual character portraits, it's unclear if audiences can expect to see the whole roster of cinematic heroes getting their own artsy posters, highlighting their costumes over the years. Given that big names like Spider-Man, Star-Lord, and Doctor Strange are all missing in action from the latest shot, we can't see this being the end of the posters, especially as Marvel preps events and merchandise to celebration the anniversary. And let's not forget that some 80 of the stars of the MCU recently gathered for that iconic all-star class photo.

Even as we approach 10 years of the MCU, we still know that there is a little more before Disney and Marvel Studios wrap up Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Next year will conclude the franchise as we currently know it with Brie Larson's arrival in Captain Marvel followed by the ultimate showdown with Thanos for the untitled Avengers 4. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige is keeping his cards close to his chest about the 20+ new movies he has planned in Phase 4 beginning in the back half of 2019, so expect to see another batch of colorful character posters to celebrate 20 years of the MCU in 2028.
