099All of these MBTI® characterizations are simply just for fun, and we were pretty psyched to finally play analyst when it comes to the cast of the musical movie Rocky Horror. Their personalities are bold and their antics even bolder, which made it that much more fun to classify them according to their otherworldly, and occasionally devious, tendencies. Some, such as Frank N. Furter and Columbia, were easy while others, such as Dr. Scott and the narrator, were a bit tricky.
Readers might be surprised to find out that they might end up sharing a personality with their favorite (or perhaps least favorite) space alien. As we say in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, that's just the way the cookie crumbles! So without further ado, let's don some fishnets, do the time warp again, and throw it back to 1975.
Dr. Frank N. Furter As An ESFP
Least surprising of all is probably Furter as an ESFP. Known as Entertainers, ESFPs are famous for their dynamic productions and ability to draw the attention of a room. Whether Furter wanted to or not, he may have simply been drawn to the act of, well, acting.
With the spotlight constantly on him - until Rocky, at least - it's easy to determine that his personality would be most in line with that of a social butterfly. Additionally, his fearlessness in the face of most anything (besides an extraterrestrial laser beam) makes him a good match for an ESFP.
Columbia As An ISFJ
Columbia's devotion to Eddie was an undying type of love. Despite the fact that they cooked and served his body later on, she was undoubtedly in love with him. So much so, that she went out of her way to defend him in front of Furter.
She would, quite literally, be in line with the Defender personality type: ISFJ. Her love for Eddie overcame and thoughts she had of fear or disrupting whatever peace was in this crazy house, proving that she would go to the ends of the earth for those she loved.
Magenta As AN ESTJ
We didn't realize until the very end that Magenta and Riff Raff were actually the ones calling the shots, so of course, their personalities were in line with one another. When they pulled off the plot twist that made our red lipstick'ed lips gasp, it soon became clear that they had a plan all along.
Therefore, Magenta comes in first and foremost as an ESTJ, otherwise known as an Executive. She wasn't only the master of the household, she was the master of their grand scheme to get Furter.
Riff Raff ISTJ
Riff Raff made a great partner in crime to Magenta, therefore earning him the title of the Logistician, or ISTJ. They're known for being reliable and practical, two things Riff Raff added to Magenta's ability to command and organize. They made a great team, even if they were aliens a galaxy known as Transylvania.
Although their plan didn't work out, thus leading to them knocking off both Further and Columbia, they had it together until that point... mostly.
Eddie As An ISFP
We don't see too much of Eddie, but Meatloaf was definitely a happy addition to this insane cast. All we really know is that he's some type of rock star who rides a motorcycle, and he also shares half a brain with Rocky. Furter kills him in a rush of jealousy as Rocky takes a liking to him (could it be the shared brain thing?), but up until that point, we'd have to imagine he was an ISFP, otherwise known as an Adventurer.
Always up to explore and take on something new, we'd imagine Eddie was pretty bold before his dinner meal days.
Brad As An ENTJ
While he was a bit weak toward the end - not that we could blame him going up against the power of Transylvania - he did take on the role initially as a solid ENTJ. Otherwise known as the Commanders, these personality types are good at taking charge and leading the pack, as he did with Janet... or tried to, anyway.
They're also known for creating paths in situations that seem to have no clear route, which is yet another thing he attempted for their potential escape. Oh, Brad, you really did try, didn't you?
Janet As An ENFP
Janet is the (seemingly) quite, soft-spoken one of the group. She's probably the least confrontational of them all, making her a good candidate to be an ENFP, or Campaigner. Her social and free-spirited nature really came alive with the help of Furter, who set all of her inhibitions free.
She really came alive when she ran into Rocky, which really gave her something to smile about - yet another thing ENFPs are well-known for.
Rocky As An ISTP
Sadly, we don't get the chance to know Rocky as well as we should, but it might not have even mattered considering he was born in a laboratory. Based on what we did see of him, it's likely that he had the potential to be an ISTP, or Virtuoso. His apparent curiosity and desire to learn are two qualities that point him in the right direction.
Furthermore, (or should we say Furter-more?) he was obviously good with his hands, tools, and enjoyed experimenting... making him a creative visionary.
Dr. Everett V. Scott As An ENTP
Dr. Scott was an interesting character, to say the least. While our favorite moment was his fishnet dance at the end of the film, he had plenty of other note-worthy moments as well, mainly while arguing with Furter. His argumentative nature truly makes him an ENTP, who are otherwise known as Debators. He was highly confrontational and fought for what he believed in, but didn't mind a quick-witted discussion.
The Criminologist As An ENFJ
The Criminologist, otherwise known as The Expert of the movie, played a large role in the narration of the film. Due to this, it was easy to characterize him as an ENFJ, otherwise known as the Protagonist.
Although he didn't have a large role in how the plot played out, he was charismatic and a great storyteller. These are two qualities that are undeniable of an ENFJ, thus making it the smartest personality option for him.
