The MBTI® personality types are a great way of determining what kind of person one will be in the world. However, it is also a great way to uncover some of the best Netflix recommendations for the varying personality types.

In the MBTI® realm, ESFJs are Extroverted, Sensing, Feeling, and Judging. This means they are unequivocally outgoing and definite leaders of whatever groups they find themselves in. They also have those intangible leadership qualities that help lift other people with support and encouragement. For those who consider themselves to be ESFJs in the world, look no further for a Netflix guide. These are five streaming shows they will love and five they will hate.

Love: Green Eggs And Ham

Green Eggs and Ham Season 1

Green Eggs and Ham, the long-gestating animated adaptation of the Dr. Seuss classic, finally hit Netflix last fall and it was way more delightful than it had any right to be. Those who loved it the most, however, were definitely the ESFJs of the world.

They empathized the most with Sam-I-Am, an ESFJ hero who just wanted to share something he loved with the world. More than extroversion, though, Green Eggs and Ham also celebrated the key ESFJ concept of working together.

Hate: The Crown

The Crown, for all of its period and costume drama nature, is still based on a true story. And that story is one that is certainly a cutthroat one. Everyone in The Crown, despite being people who should love one another, is only ever trying to get ahead of each other.

This lack of support would be despised by ESFJ. They also would have a tough time with the glacier pace of the show. Gorgeous costumes alone are not enough to entice an ESFJ.

Love: Wet Hot American Summer

The Wet Hot American Summer film spun off into two Netflix series, First Day of Camp and Ten Years Later. Both versions would be adored by ESFJ because every character in the shows seems to embody the leadership qualities of an ESFJ.

There is spirit and passion oozing from every frame of the show. Sure, it is a heightened reality. (No other show could have that many ESFJs coexist with one another.) But it's still a fun one for ESFJs to escape to.

Hate: The Eddy

The Eddy on Netflix

The Eddy is Netflix's newest show and one of its biggest flops. A musical drama set in Paris, The Eddy was met with a thud when it debuted on the streaming service last weekend. The anticipation it contained was not met at all.

ESFJs will have their own reasons for disliking the multilingual series, though. Mostly, it would be the unlikable characters who only ever seem to use each other. The only times they come together are when they are playing jazz music. That's not justifiable enough of an ensemble effort.

Love: Fuller House

ESFJs love to support the people in their lives and make sure that they always receive the respect and love they need. What Netflix series could be better for them than Fuller House, then? It's arguably the most supportive show ever made because it's a descendant of a similarly supportive one, Full House.

The show is all about lifting people up, especially when they are down, and teaching them life lessons. That is a rock solid foundation for an ESFJ on Netflix.

Hate: Glow

Glow has a few moments of support and love like Fuller House does, but it is also not even close to trying to do the same thing that that sitcom is. Glow, instead, is about wrestlers who come together as a group in spite of themselves.

Even though a few ESFJs populate the margins of Glow, the main characters are in direct contrast of these qualities. Instead, they are ruthless and spiteful characters who hold onto petty squabbles that manifest in immature ways. ESFJs would not last beyond the first season.

Love: American Vandal

On the other hand, American Vandal is a show that had all the reason in the world to be a spiteful show, but it wasn't. The fictionalized true crime mockumentary homage that breaks down the social foibles of high school is perfect for an ESFJ.

Yes, the high school quarterback might be the kind of leader who'd be an ESFJ. But American Vandal shows that stereotypes and preconceived notions of high school are not all they're made out to be. ESFJs will appreciate this aspect of the gone-too-soon comedy.

Hate: 13 Reasons Why

Staying in the realm of high school, 13 Reasons Why takes the exact opposite approach that American Vandal does. Instead of subverting expectations about high school social standing, 13 Reasons Why perpetuates them.

They show the worst of high school and the worst stereotypes that students can embody. Quickly derided in the popular culture, 13 Reasons Why would not be a favorite of any ESFJ. There just doesn't seem to be much empathy at play, at all. The focus is on using other people, only to best them.

Love: Big Mouth

Big Mouth, in addition to Green Eggs and Ham, is of the animated variety on Netflix. Like the Dr. Seuss show, it would also be loved by ESFJs. ESFJs would love the realistic portrayal of grade school that Big Mouth embodies.

However, they would also appreciate that it goes beyond the stereotypes to dive deeper into the characters. Those in Big Mouth are actually friends who lift up one another. It's a perfect show for an ESFJ.

Hate: Black Mirror

Black Mirror is not a full Netflix original series, as the early seasons were produced for Channel 4. However, the Netflix seasons of the show would definitely be met with distaste by ESFJs.

For one, they would loathe the cruelty and antipathy that percolates in each episode of the anthology series. The episode ESFJs would loathe the most, however, is "Nosedive." It's a whip smart script from Michael Schur and Rashida Jones, but it is completely lacking in support and encouragement. It's not the best show for ESFJs.
