Whitney Thore met up with Chase Severino for the first time since their break up on the newest episode of My Big Fat Fabulous Life, but viewers found the get-together extremely awkward. The former couple broke up over a year ago, and both have moved on with their lives. The idea of a meet-up seems utterly bizarre to fans who think Whitney should just let Chase go.

Whitney and Chase met on New Year's Eve in 2018 and started dating shortly after. Viewers of My Big Fat Fabulous Life watched as their relationship blossomed in season 6 as Chase seemed smitten with the dancer. The UNC Charlotte graduate decided to pop the question while on vacation in Paris. Whitney and Chase appeared perfectly happy until the worldwide pandemic hit. Both lived apart, with Chase in Wilmington and Whitney in Charlotte. Sadly, the temptation was too strong for Chase, who sparked up an affair with an old flame. Whitney soon found out that Chase had cheated on her and fathered a child.

TLC viewers were confused about why the former couple would still be in contact, but Whitney has had a hard time letting go. It turns out Chase wanted to inform his ex-lover that he was proposing to his new girlfriend, Sara. Viewers felt the meeting was forced by production, who wanted more drama for the show. Fans argued that most couples who break up because of cheating allegations don't usually carve out time to go sit in a bar to talk about their future. Chase revealed he is afraid to post updates on social media because of the attacks he has received from fans. In the end, Chase broke the news about his future engagement, and it went well.

Still, his appearance on the show seemed odd in all the wrong ways. The father of one was originally worried Whitney would bring some weird animosity to the table, but she instead brought humor. My Big Fat Fabulous Life viewers noticed that Chase didn't seem to understand the hurt he may have caused his former flame. To many, Chase was just looking for immediate forgiveness and absolution of his sins. Now that the meeting is out of the way, viewers are hoping Chase is gone for good, especially since Whitney has her new French man to enjoy.
