The father of four refused to bring down the price for his son, Zach Roloff, instead choosing to put the home up in the public domain. Little People, Big World fans were shocked when they learned on the season 23 premiere that Matt had every intention of selling the family farm. After years of selling the idea to his children about taking over the farm, Matt Roloff reneged on the idea and opted to try to earn more money than keep the land within his family. The backlash has been swift, with many feeling like Matt chose money over his son. Now, many are wondering if the grandpa has started to regret fighting with Zach and not finding a happy medium.
Matt revealed in May that he had decided to put up for sale 16 acres of his 1o8-acre farm for someone who wasn't a Roloff. According to The Sun, Roloff Farms is still on the market, and Matt is losing the chance to make money every day. The LPBW star listed the home for $4 million, and he isn't willing to budge on the price. The Roloff property has been on the market for one month, and while the listing includes the main house that has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a pool, there has been little interest from outside buyers. The news outlet noted that two years ago, the Roloffs spent $2 million renovating the family home in hopes of making a return on their investment.
Sadly, with Zach snubbed, it doesn't look like there have been any other offers. While Matt may have hoped that hurting his son would have paid off in a higher profit, he may start to regret that line of thinking. Zach, instead, moved his family to Battleground, WA, where he bought a one-million-dollar home. The father and son are still on thin ice, and it is apparent during LPBW season 23 that the relationship has not been mended. Viewers are also curious if many buyers are put off with the fact that Matt would be their neighbor.
Currently, Little People, Big World fans are watching Zach and Matt grow farther and farther apart. Matt stated on a recent episode that he was hoping to make a profit from selling the farm, especially since he is looking toward retirement. He already owns a second home in Surprise, AZ, where he flees to in the winter. For now, Matt will have to stay close to Oregon and hope he can find himself a buyer who is ready to put up with his shenanigans.
