While most people are stuck at home because of the Coronavirus, actor Joe Pantoliano is recovering at home after getting hit by a car. Pantoliano is known for his roles in MementoThe Sopranos, as well as the Bad Boys trilogy, but he might be most known for playing Cypher in The MatrixCypher was originally a crew member on the Nebuchadnezzar but betrayed Morpheus and his friends in order to return to the Matrix and have his memory erased. His plan to aid Agent Smith didn't work, as he was killed by Tank later on in the film.

The Matrix trilogy concluded in 2003, but just last year, it was announced that The Matrix 4 was happening with Keanu Reeves returning to star and Lana Wachowski returning to direct. Carrie-Anne Moss will also reprise her role of Trinity to star alongside Reeves, but other important cast members like Laurence Fishburne (Morpheus), Jada Pinkett-Smith (Niobe), and Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith) have yet to be confirmed for the fourth film. Cypher didn't appear in The Matrix Reloaded or The Matrix Revolutions since the character died in the first film, but Pantoliano still wants to return for The Matrix 4. Pantoliano has been involved in other projects while he waits for a call for The Matrix 4, but currently, he is at home recovering from being struck by a car.

First reported by Variety, Pantoliano suffered head and chest injuries after he was hit by a car. Pantoliano was walking in his neighborhood when two drivers got into a car accident near him. One of the cars hit the actor and causing him to hit his head on the ground. Pantoliano was taken to the hospital to get stitches, but the actor is now healing in the comfort of his home. The actor's injury can be seen in Pantoliano's Instagram post below:

The plot of The Matrix 4 is of course being kept under lock and key by Warner Bros., but the film will have to explain how Neo and Trinity return from the dead since they both died in The Matrix Revolutions. While only select cast members from the original trilogy are returning, the film has also added some new cast members such as Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Neil Patrick Harris in unknown roles. Other than casting announcements, nothing is really known about The Matrix 4The Matrix 4 had been filming for four weeks before being shut down due to the Coronavirus, but even the leaked set photos didn't reveal much about the movie.

With the film somehow bringing Neo and Trinity back to life, the door is always open for Cypher's return. Pantoliano had a memorable role in The Matrix, and most fans would no doubt love to have the character return for the fourth movie. Pantoliano would have had to take some time off of work for his recent injuries, but fortunately, he likely isn't missing out on any work since most movie and TV productions have been shut down due to the Coronavirus.
