He-Man and the heroes of Eternia are coming soon to Netflix in a new animated series, titled Masters of the Universe: Revelation, and here's everything we know so far. Based on the popular action figure line that originated in the 1980s, the show will be the fourth cartoon in the franchise, following He-Man and the Masters of the Universe from 1983, The New Adventures of He-Man in the early 1990s, and a reboot of the original series, which ran from 2002 to 2004.

A second live-action Masters of the Universe movie is currently development, but that's not the only new installment the franchise has to offer in the near future. Two cartoons are being produced by Netflix, which is already the home of She-Ra & the Princesses of Power, a He-Man spinoff. One of the two new He-Man cartoons headed to Netflix is He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, while the other is Masters of the Universe: Revelation, which is confirmed to be a miniseries.

A release date has not been announced, and considering that a trailer hasn't even been released yet, Masters of the Universe: Revelation is still a long way from being completed. Fortunately, Kevin Smith has said that work is still continuing on Masters of the Universe: Revelation, which unlike several other shows and movies, it isn't being seriously affected by the coronavirus. Smith says the current plan is for Masters of the Universe: Revelation to release on Netflix in 2021, possibly in the summer.

So far, Masters of the Universe: Revelation isn't missing any of the franchise's most important characters, and it boasts an impressive cast of voice actors, which includes Mark Hamill as Skeletor, Chris Wood as He-Man (and Prince Adam), Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela, Liam Cunningham as Man-at-Arms, Stephen Root as Cringer (He-Man's cat), Diedrich Bader as Trap Jaw and King Randor, Alicia Silverstone as Queen Marlena, Kevin Michael Richardson as Beast Man, Kevin Conroy as Mer-Man, Henry Rollins as Tri-Klops, Lena Headey as Evil-Lyn, Griffin Newman as Orko, Susan Eisenberg as Sorceress, and more. Also, the iconic characters of the original He-Man cartoon will get to keep their designs.

Masters of the Universe: Revelation Story Details

Teela From Masters Of the Universe

Masters of the Universe: Revelation isn't a reboot but a sequel series, as it will pick up where the original 1980s series left off, with He-Man being the main protagonist. It only makes sense for He-Man to have a large presence since the series never did get to explore the final battle between He-Man and his greatest enemy, Skeletor. Smith has teased that this fight could finally be shown in Masters of the Universe: Revelation.
