Warning: The following contains SPOILERS for the Masters of the Universe: Revelation, Part 2 finale, "Comes with Everything You See Here."

The Masters of the Universe: Revelation, Part 2 finale gave a prominent cameo to one of the most disrespected heroes of the original toy line; Ram Man. The hard-headed hero made a surprising appearance during the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor, delivering a well-placed strike when it was needed most. This stood in marked contrast from the typically comedic use of the character in earlier Masters of the Universe television series.

Released as part of Wave 2 of the original Masters of the Universe toy line in 1983, Ram Man was one of the few action figures that did not come from the same muscular mold as most of the He-Man characters. The mini-comics portrayed him as a Little John figure, who lived apart from society until a chance encounter with He-Man. The original animated series portrayed Ram Man as a slow-witted dwarfish figure who only used his head as a weapon. His portrayal was somewhat kinder in the 2002 He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series, but he was still portrayed as a loveable oaf rather than the gruff but misunderstood warrior of the comics. Neither the cartoons nor the comics explained the source of Ram Man's impressive jumping powers and whether they were the result of magic or science.

The ending of Masters of the Universe: Revelation, Part 2 gave Ram Man an impressive entrance into the series, during the finale, "Comes with Everything You See Here." As He-Man and Skeletor dueled within Castle Grayskull, Queen Marlena, who had been an astronaut and fighter pilot on Earth before her adventures took her to Eternia, flew the Talon Fighter over the castle with "a special bomb to drop" through the hole in the castle's roof. The bomb turned out to be Ram Man, who knocked Skeletor out and threw He-Man a compact flying disc, telling him that they needed to get back to the war outside the castle before jokingly adding, "Your mommy's worried about you!"

Masters of the Universe Revelation Ram Man

It seems likely that the Netflix He-Man series will remain controversial, despite Masters of the Universe: Revelation, Part 2 delivering a series more in-line with the original He-Man cartoons. Yet it cannot be denied that the series made Ram Man into a force to be reckoned with. Apart from the character's impressive entrance, Ram Man's voice in Masters of the Universe: Revelation is provided by famed tough-guy actor Danny Trejo, in a casting feat that shows the respect the series' producers had for the stalwart hero.

Masters of the Universe: Revelation, Part 2 also offered a subtle explanation for Ram Man's powers, as what sounded like steam-powered hydraulics could be heard just before his legs uncoiled. This suggests that Ram Man is some kind of cyborg. In either case, the sound effects were far more impressive than the cartoonish spring noise that accompanied the character's jumps in the original Masters of the Universe cartoon.
