Before season 3 of Master of None was released, most fans knew that the Netflix series was going to go in a completely different direction, and the third season instead decided to focus on the story of Denise and Alicia, with Aziz Ansari taking a backseat. This decision to change the course of Master of None was made for several reasons, and most fans can agree that it was for the best, as the newest season is engaging, fresh, and even beautiful on the screen.
One of the highlights of season 3 was the introduction of two new main characters: Denise, played by Lena Waithe, who was previously more of a secondary character and best friend of Dev, and Alicia, Denise’s partner on the show, played by Naomi Ackie. Two very different characters in both personality and style, fans especially loved to watch Alicia’s often emotional journey in the season, illustrated through her collection of gorgeous outfits. Alicia’s wardrobe tells a lot about her journey to find herself and what she truly wants.
Leather Shearling Jacket – Season 3, Episode 5
In the last episode of the series, and a fairly confusing one at that, Alicia and Denise reunite for an affair back at their old house, which is now being rented out as an Airbnb. The two talk outside and Alicia wears a stunning leather shearling jacket, befit for the cool dampness of the upstate New York location.
The jacket is open style with a zipper and is almost oversized on Alicia. The collar is popped, partially hiding her face, and if it says anything about her character in this final episode, it could be not only seen as protection against the elements but perhaps against her emotions toward Denise. Another reading into Alicia's look is that her relaxed, no-makeup look shows that she is finally happy and comfortable in their relationship, as it stands.

Green Tweed Playsuit – Season 3, Episode 4
This beautiful green tweed-style jumpsuit can be seen on Alicia in episode 4 when she goes to visit the fertility clinic. When she arrives at the clinic, she is wearing a black coat with a wide fur collar over it, her hair is up in braids, and she sports fun shoes with a chunky heel. When she enters the doctor’s office, she takes off her coat and the audience can see the full outfit, complete with black stockings.
The outfit is a bold color and professional but also youthful and innocent, a lot like how Alicia’s character is in this moment, as she is not yet aware of just how difficult and painful her future treatments and struggle to have a baby will be.
The jumpsuit is called the “Sandro Paris Jacky Short Sleeve Playsuit” and was sold by FarFetch, and while the style seems to be currently sold out or unavailable, similar playsuits are still sold on the site.
Yellow Jacquard Blouse – Season 3, Episode 3
While not fully visible under her jacket, Alicia sports this beautiful yellow tie-neck blouse in the third episode of the season when she visits Denise to get her to sign the divorce papers. The look is professional and no-nonsense with its high neck and crocodile print but still has a softness as the blouse was made with 100 percent silk.
Alicia definitely means business when she gets to the house, as she just wants the papers signed as quickly as possible, much to Denise’s reluctance. Alicia's outfit showed her strength against Denise’s vulnerability.

Bold Red Cardigan – Season 3, Episode 1
Master of None had many great guest stars, and Anthony Welsh was one of them. He plays Darius, whom Denise and Alicia invite over to ask to be their sperm donor in the first episode of season 3.
The couple tries to make a casual, comfortable environment for Darius and this is emphasized by Alicia’s relaxed-looking outfit, which includes a particularly stylish cardigan. She wears the sleeves pushed up and over a vintage-style button-up shirt dress.

Blue Monkey & Tiger Pajamas – Season 3, Episode 1
Everyone is asking about the gorgeous pajamas that Alicia wears throughout the season. She wears many, many different lounge/pajama outfits and robes, either to lounge in bed or just to hang around the house, and they all really bring a luxe-casual look to the couple’s quarantine nest in the countryside.
Alicia always wears bold and/or African-inspired prints and her pajamas are no different. In the first episode of the season, she is seen wearing two very similar but different pajama sets: a blue set with monkeys and a more purple-blue set with pink tigers. The pajamas say a lot about Alicia’s personal style, as well as just how different she is from Denise, who would likely never see the point of such extravagance.
The company that makes the pajamas are Desmond & Dempsey, and they are all still available, plus many other styles. No doubt, sales of their luxurious nightwear skyrocketed after this episode aired.
Teal Running Hoodie – Season 3, Episode 1
Lovers of fashion movies and TV shows will love all of Alicia's looks. Though she has some more formal get-ups, she dresses casually, too, and her outfits vary depending on her emotional state and what she’s doing. In the first episode of the season, at the very beginning of the episode and when Denise is still sleeping, she goes for a morning jog in the local area and wears a teal Lululemon hooded jacket. When she comes back, all dressed up in a purple checked Chanel-style jacket and high-heeled white chunky patent leather boots, Denise is still in bed.
Both outfits say a lot about the differences between Alicia and Denise, and how they both, in many ways, have different priorities and want different things. While Denise did write a best-selling novel and has seen success, her career decline after her first novel is contrasted with Alicia’s ambition to get out there to get what she wants.
Lululemon is a hugely popular athleisure brand, and viewers can find similar jackets to Alicia's in a variety of styles.
Metallic Knit Cowl Turtleneck – Season 3, Episode 1
Alicia’s casual but bold style is further emphasized in this bronze metallic knit sweater with a cowl neck by Reiss. She wears it with green wide-leg trousers, gold hoop earrings, and a coordinating head wrap, and it’s seen when Dev and his girlfriend come over for a somewhat awkward dinner, fraught with their passive-aggressive arguing.
The outfit is fun and a simple expression of Alicia’s creativity when it comes to her fashion choice and that she likes to dress up, even when at home. Her outfits usually contrast with Denise’s more hip-hop-inspired sportswear, but here Denise wears a complementary gold shirt and casual burgundy Vans slip-ons. In this way, the scene exemplifies that despite their problems, Denise and Alicia don’t have the problems of Dev and his girlfriend and comparatively more united and “together.”

Alicia’s headwraps deserve an entry all their own because she is almost always seen wearing them and they vary so widely in their beautiful styles and colors. Again, Alicia’s hair and the wraps vary throughout the season and say a lot about her emotional journey. Naomi Ackie spoke about her collaboration with costume designer, Kate Forbes, in an interview with Vibe:
“How do we tell the story of Alicia through her wardrobe? She’s eclectic, she’s afrocentric, she’s artistic, she’s colorful. Even with her hair, how do we tell the story of a woman who is finding herself and she loses her way slightly. The clothes get a little drabber in episode four, her hair is more wrapped up. Then how do we explode her back to show that she found her authenticity again.”
Whether Alicia is just hanging around the house, at a doctor’s appointment, or going through her most painful moments alone, her wraps tell the story of her character as well as the show itself.
