A recent interview highlighted how Mass Effect Legendary Edition isn't just fixing the game's graphics and making some well-received changes to the way the Mako handles - it's also addressing some questionable Miranda Lawson camera shots that are relics of a time gone by. Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a collection of the original Mass Effect trilogy that has dramatically overhauled the graphics of each game while attempting to preserve the identity of each that made them special when they first released.

The changes coming in Mass Effect Legendary Edition aren't just to visuals, which is a welcome revelation for fans. Most notably the collection will be making several quality of life changes, including some to the infamous Mako vehicle's handling. Of the three Mass Effect games in the collection, Mass Effect 2 may get the biggest spotlight based on its popular story and cast of characters, which includes Miranda Lawson. Lawson is a character defined by the way she appears and handles herself, and her narrative is one of the most interesting to come out of Mass Effect's sci-fi world, as she has to define who she is for herself despite being genetically modified to be good at what she does.

Fans of Miranda will be pleased to know her character is also being treated with more care from a cinematic viewpoint, too. An interview conducted by Metro with Mass Effect Legendary Edition project director Mac Walters revealed that the team has been sifting through each game's presentation and cutting or adjusting aesthetic decisions that don't belong, and Miranda's treatement is one such cut. Walters notes that Kevin Meek, the collection's environment and character director, noticed that camera cuts "focusing on Miranda's butt" were present, calling them out and adjusting them.

Walters also notes the team found weird animations for Shepard that were clearly meant for the male model only, stating that while the team couldn't completely rebuild the animation, it could adjust the camera angles to make them more flattering to both representations of Shepard. Those changes reflect how the industry has progressed over the years, even if they're minor updates.

It's clear from interviews like this one about fixing Miranda Lawson camera angles that Mass Effect Legendary Edition is being handled with care from the development team. Small adjustments like these go a long way in making fans happy, and those, coupled with the more overtly noticeable changes to graphics and loading smoothness, should help make Mass Effect Legendary Edition a strong seller when it releases later this year.
