Fans of BioWare’s Mass Effect franchise have been waiting for quite some time for more information on the next game in the series, Mass Effect: Andromeda. Originally confirmed back in 2015 at E3, it wasn’t until the same event earlier this year that the first real look at the game was given, showcasing some of the stellar environments players will be able to explore when the title drops next Spring.

Thankfully it looks like further details on the game are right around the corner, with a new trailer encouraging gamers to sign up to the ‘Andromeda Initiative’ ahead of ‘orientation’ on November 7. Submitting your email on the Mass Effect website the video links to, you’re promised to be amongst the first to receive “critical mission information, special training opportunities, and will also be eligible for reward upon program completion.”

The trailer itself is more of a graphics showcase than a hint of what to expect from the game, and a rallying cry to all who may be intrigued by the forthcoming release.

Mass Effect Andromeda Trailer

The visuals here won’t be of any surprise to veteran Mass Effect gamers, instead offering assurance that the series will continue on with its exploration through space in the meaty one-minute dialogue that lays over the video:

This path began a long time ago. A course paved through human history that took us across continents, oceans, and ultimately, to the stars. For us, this planet is home. It’s protected us, challenged us, provided us the foundation to become Galactic citizens… But the time has come to prepare ourselves for a future beyond the Milky Way; a future that begins 600 years from where we stand; in a time, a place among unknown stars and unseen dangers.

And so we issue this call to the brave, the inquisitive; to the trailblazers of the human race, as an invitation to stand on the shoulders of those who came before, and challenge yourself to go further. Begin your journey. Join the Andromeda Initiative today.

It’s undoubtedly exciting to know that BioWare is now gearing up for the biggest promotion trail for Andromeda yet. The next few weeks should really give gamers more of an idea of exactly what they can expect when the title hits shelves next year and for that, the company has to be applauded.

Of course, there’s always the chance that the information coming our way could give too much away, leaving a bitter taste in the mouth of players once they do eventually have Andromeda in their hands. Thankfully, BioWare seems to be a company that knows what they’re doing, so can be trusted to know exactly how much to reveal whilst still leaving elements of surprise for those who get behind a controller and play upon release.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will be released in Spring 2017 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One.
