Diana Allers, the reporter for Alliance News' Battlespace segment, may find a place in both the Commander's ship and heart in Mass Effect 3. She is one of the easier characters to complete a romance with and offers some interesting light on how the Commander feels about his interactions throughout the game. Offering her a place upon the ship can mean oversharing, but players may also gain a lover.
Once Diana Allers has been accepted on the ship, she'll have a couple of ambient dialogues players can speak with her in and her own little interviews. Diana is a reporter, interested in the facts as much as she is into her ratings. Players will need to please both her palette and curiosity.
How to Romance the Reporter Diana Allers in Mass Effect 3
Players first need to find and collect Diana. This can be done on the Commander's first visit to the Citadel. She'll be hanging out in the lounge of Normandy Dock: Bay D24. Once the player speaks with her, she'll ask to join the crew and join the journey to learn more and improve her segment on Battlespace. She makes it clear that she is offering the player to edit what she records and what is allowed off of the ship, making her offer fairly enticing. Accept her onto the ship to continue the Commander's relationship with her. Aboard, she'll push her aid to the war effort for the Commander with her reports.
Within her time aboard she can be persuaded into whichever direction the Commander decides to swing. Between missions, Allers can have some small ambient conversations with the Commander. These often won't boil down too much, but offering her access to information about Earth and supporting her livelihood will win the Commander some brownie points. Make sure, however, to not romance anyone else while pursuing Allers, as she will remove herself from flirting with the Commander. Outside of this, the main time for players to shine is during their interviews.
The first interview will happen after the mission on Tuchanka. In this interview, be gentle and bright, letting her know that the current situation is very different from the Krogan Rebellions. If she asks the player further about petitioning the Council, agree on the negotiation and keep the interview rolling.
After the Commander defends the Citadel from a Cerberus attack, she'll record a second interview. Although she gives the player some tough questions about the dire situation and the safety of the people, continue the interview and keep answering her questions. If done correctly, Allers will make a sly comment about following the Commander home. Flirt back with her to keep her interested.
Finally, the last interview happens after the events on Rannoch. She will ask about the Geth or Quarians for allies based on the actions the player took within the mission. Once more, answer all her questions and take the interview through to completion. Afterward, she'll state that she "needs the right body." Luckily, that isn't dependent on the gender of the Commander. Instead, simply tell Diana that the Commander is interested in her. Accept that she needs this to be secret, and the romance will be complete.
