This week, The Masked Singer introduced its third wildcard of the season. Unlike previous weeks, this is the first time fans saw a wildcard who was unable to unseat a current contestant. This week was Group B finals and an unlikely time for someone to show up and rock the boat. We questioned earlier tonight the odds of someone being able to send home one of the three remaining original members of group B or the recently added wildcard Crab. It turns out we were correct in assuming that wouldn't happen, but not so correct in assuming why.

Bulldog turned out to be none other than the show's host Nick Cannon, who has been missing so far this season due to contracting COVID-19. While fans will be sad to see Niecy Nash, his temporary replacement, go home, it was great news to fans who were worried about their favorite going home. Tonight's not-so-serious wildcard means all the competitors will stay another week and were never really in danger. It turned out the panel was no better at predicting Cannon than we were. Ken Jeong guessed actors Andy Samberg or Chris Tucker, while Jenny McCarthy thought comedians Eddie Murphy or Chris Rock might be under the mask. None of Nick's costars guessed it was him.

Well, we didn't have a chance to make a prediction, but with Nick Cannon changing his voice up intentionally, it would have been hard for anyone to think the high-pitched voice that sounded more like a teen was actually the show's host making his return. Nick said he dedicated the song to Niecy, as he was so grateful for the amazing job she did filling in for him during a rough time. They revealed the GT clue was for Nick's hosting gig for America's Got Talent and the dance battle was for some of his films like Drumline and School Dance.
