The Masked Singer is hitting the road in 2022 with a tour set to visit 50 cities. The tour was meant to happen earlier but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The competition show originated in Korea, but the American version aired in January 2019 and is currently in its sixth season. The show features various celebrities singing and competing against each other while hiding their identity behind elaborate costumes. After their performance, four panelists--Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger--must guess the performer's identity based on their voice and clue package. The audience then votes on their favorite masked performer, and the celebrity with the least amount of votes is eliminated from The Masked Singer and must unmask.

Some of the previous celebrity contestants throughout the series are Donny Osmond, Caitlyn Jenner, Dionne Warwick and Joey Fatone. Most recently, the Hamster was voted off the show and revealed to be comedian and actor Rob Schneider. The last standing singer wins a golden mask trophy at the end of the season. The past five winners are T-Pain, Wayne Brady, Kandi Burruss, LeAnn Rimes and Nick Lachey.

Fans celebrated on Twitter in response to the announcement. When the official The Masked Singer Twitter account tweeted the news, @CraigTheHusky responded, "IT'S BACK, IT'S BACK!!!!!!!!" The show was initially scheduled for summer 2020 but was shelved until further notice. Now that live shows are back, The Masked Singer tour kicks off in St. Louis on May 28.
