One of the last costumes revealed in season 3 of The Masked Singer was Swan and fans still can't agree on which celebrity might be behind the mask. Who is Swan and how do the clues confirm her identity?
Swan lived up to her namesake as the tall long-legged singer wowed with her performance of "Fever" by Peggy Lee. Viewers online immediately started throwing out various names with many convinced it was Twilight's Kristen Stewart or Westworld's Evan Rachel Wood. But it was clear when standing next to host Nick Cannon that Swan was a taller celebrity. That height and build along with everything in the clue package pointed much more directly at former Disney star and best selling author, Bella Thorne. At 5'9" the slender singer fits the build of Swan better than some of the other guesses.
Swan started out her clue package dancing. Bella Thorne first came to be known for her role on Disney's Shake it Up where she played a dancer. Next, viewers saw a balloon that was just the outline of a heart, similar to the outline of a heart tattoo she has on her shoulder. The next visual clue was vampire fangs. The former Disney star went on to produce a vampire movie, but also she launched her own label a few years back called Filthy Fangs. Next up was a man screaming which is one of the easier clues to connect to the actress who appeared in the TV series Scream. Still, one more visual clue, a ghost, pointed to her films Amityville: The Awakening and Tyler Perry's Boo! A Madea Halloween.
The clues weren't just limited to what viewers were shown, but also the things Swan said. She spoke of choosing a swan as her costume because it was able to fly despite the burden of the weight they carry. Thorne has spoken out about some of the trauma she faced in her childhood, though it didn't stop her from getting to where she is now. Swan said she played games, a likely reference to the fact that Thorne voiced several video game characters and lived fame. Thorne was the star of a TV series called Famous in Love. She said she was "euphoric" which made some think of the popular HBO series Euphoria, however while Thorne was not in that series, her Disney co-star Zendaya is. Lastly, Swan mentions baring her soul and Thorne famously leaked nudes of herself to prevent a hacker from being able to.
If the clues aren't enough to sell it, there are the similarities in tone of voand personality as well as the voice. Swan fans are hoping she will stick around long enough to see what other performances she has in store for viewers. The one thing that's certain about this show is fans rarely agree on who it is wearing their favorite costume. It is certain, until the mask is ultimately revealed, fans will enthusiastically debate Swan's identity and until then, the panelists won't disappoint in their array of completely random and usually wrong guesses.
