Few of the costumes this season on The Masked Singer are more glamourous than that of Crocodile. But the real question everyone wants to know is who is inside that glitzy pink reptile suit. We have linked all the clues to get the answer.

Crocodile made a splash during his first appearance when he rocked out to "It's My Life" by Bon Jovi. As fans prepare for his second performance this week on The Masked Singer, everyone is scouring the internet looking for clues as to his identity. Judges' guesses included Mad Men's Jon Hamm, singer Nick Lachey, and fellow former boy bander (and husband of judge Jenny McCarthy), Donnie Wahlberg. Fans went a different direction with the popular guess of How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris. However, the more realistic fan theory is yet another famous boy band singer, Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter.

The first clue for Crocodile came in the sneak peek episode, where he said a certain set of keys reversed his game forever. This clue stumped fans who were taking the clue literally, but perhaps it could be referring to a different kind of keys and a different kind of game. Carter's game was definitely reversed when he settled down by asking wife Lauren to marry him. Interestingly enough, he proposed in the Florida Keys. In his first clue package, there was a clear Vegas theme. This fits with Backstreet Boys: Larger Than Life, the band's Vegas residency that ran from 2017 to 2019. The clue package started with a yellow slip and slide in the background. Carter has spoken about his acting start as an extra in the Johnny Depp movie Edward Scissorhands. In it, Carter was barely visible for a moment in the background on a yellow plastic slip and slide. Crocodile went on to talk about growing up in Hollywood surrounded by heartache and instability. Carter has been open about the volatile and dysfunctional home he and his siblings had as children and its role in their future troubles. Crocodile said that, despite the cold reputation reptiles have, he just wanted to be loved. This could be a reference to his reality show, I Heart Nick Carter. Check out the vieo below to compare Crocodile's voice to Nick Carter's:

Visual clues in Crocodile's package included an Italian flag that sent many on a different path with guesses relating to famous Italian American celebrities. But Nick Carter is actually the name of a famous Italian comic strip. There were fish on the table in the clue package, and Carter and his wife have a sunken steamboat fish tank that was even featured on an episode of Tanked. At one point, Crocodile spoke of being sensitive, with tears in his eyes and a rainbow behind him. The Backstreet Boys singer once asked fans for prayers ahead of the due date of the couple's rainbow baby. A rainbow baby is one conceived following a miscarriage, a tragic experience the Carters survived and spoke about openly.

Crocodile spoke of being most at home in the water. Between his love of fish, home in the Florida Keys, and history of boat racing, including owning Nick Carter Racing, it is safe to say the former boy band star is very comfortable in and around water. The general height and build of Crocodile seems to line up well with Carter too. If these clues aren't enough to convince you then the voice should do it. Clips of live performances on his Now or Never album tour sound very similar to Crocodile's first performance on The Masked Singer. And "now or never" even happens to be a line in the Bon Jovi song he performed. Most of the internet agrees and so do we: Crocodile is former teen heartthrob, Nick Carter.
