The Masked Singer panelist, Robin Thicke, posted a heartfelt tribute to the late Bob Saget, who was a friend of Robin's family and a contestant on season 4 of the show. Bob passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at the age of 65. He was found unresponsive in a hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton, Orlando, Grande Lakes. The Orange County Sheriff's statement said that detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in the case. The cause of death is still being determined. Bob was best known for playing Danny Tanner, the beloved dad on the family sitcom, Full House, from 1987-1995 and appeared in 10 episodes of its sequel, Fuller House. He also was the original host of America's Funniest Home Videos from 1989 to 1997 and the narrator of How I Met Your Mother, providing the voice of the older Ted Mosby from 2005-2014. Bob was also a successful stand-up comedian.

Bob was a close friend of Robin's family. He was good friends with Robin's father, Alan Thicke, who played another adored sitcom father, Jason Seaver, on Growing Pains from 1985-1992. Alan passed away in 2016 at age 69. In 2020, Bob joined the cast of The Masked Singer season 4 as the Squiggly Monster. His costume was silly and fun, made entirely of multi-colored synthetic fur. It had six arms, five eyes, and a smiling mouth with bright white teeth. He wore a small top hat on top of his long, shaggy hair. During the competition, Bob sang "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" by Creedence Clearwater Revival and "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" by The Rolling Stones. After Bob's first performance, Robin guessed him as his first impression guess, along with Jenny McCarthy. All of the panelists except for Nicole Scherzinger guessed him for their final guesses. It was no wonder that Robin was able to immediately identify his family friend Bob's voice.

On Instagram, Robin posted a loving tribute to Bob. He included a collection of pictures of himself and his family with Bob throughout the years. In every picture, Bob is smiling sweetly. Robin shared that Bob was a strong presence in the life of the Thicke family. He wrote, "Heartbroken. Bob Saget was a close friend to our family for over 30 years. He was there at my father's wedding and funeral. He was groomsman at my uncle Todd’s wedding."

One of the words that has been included in every tribute to Bob is "kind." Celebrities such as John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Jimmy Kimmel, and Pete Davidson have spoken about what a loving friend he was to them. Robin continued his post with the same sentiments, writing, "He was the kindest, most gentle soul. Forever loved. I know my Dad is there to welcome him in Heaven with a joke and a hug. We love you @bobsaget."

Bob Saget's death was a shocking and heartbreaking loss to fans of his work on Full House and The Masked Singer. As celebrities such as Robin pay tribute to him, fans are wondering what they can do to help to honor his legacy. Bob's sister, Gay, died of scleroderma at just 47 years of age in 1994. He had become involved with the Scleroderma Research Foundation before her diagnosis, and later became a board member of the organization. He was committed to helping to find a cure for this terrible disease. He passed away on what would have been Gay's 75th birthday. Fans can donate to the Scleroderma Research Foundation to help continue Bob's mission.
