The Masked Singer season 8's Snowstorm was revealed to be comedian and television host Nikki Glaser, and she explains why she is considering recording and releasing an album under a different name. In Nikki's debut as Snowstorm on Comedy Roast Night, she wowed everyone with her stunning rendition of "Thank U, Next" by Ariana Grande. She dethroned Chris Jericho (Bride) as the Queen of The Masked Singer, and easily defeated Adam Carolla (Avocado) in the Battle Royale when they sang "You're So Vain" by Carly Simon. On Fright Night, she sang "Sweet But Psycho" by Ava Max. After Linda Blair (Scarecrow) bowed out of the competition, she went head-to-head with Ray Parker Jr. (Sir Bugaboo) in the Battle Royale, during which they sang "Somebody's Watching Me" by Rockwell.

Nikki then headed to The Masked Singer semi-finals, competing against frontrunners Harp and the Lambs. Although her performance of "Thinking of You" by Katy Perry was very impressive, she could not defeat her competitors in the Battle Royale during which they sang "Since U Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson. Because Nikki debuted on The Masked Singer Comedy Roast Night, and was hilarious during each show, the panelists thought that she must be a comedian, even though she had a pop star voice. They guessed that she might be Whitney Cummings (Robin Thicke), Kristen Wiig (Ken Jeong), or Iliza Shlesinger (Nicole Scherzinger). Only Jenny McCarthy guessed Nikki correctly.

Nikki Glaser Would Like To Release An Album Under A Different Name

In an interview with EW, Nikki shared why she is now interested in recording and releasing an album under a pseudonym after her success on The Masked Singer. She said, "I look at singing as something I just started. And I wasn't ready to be a viable artist in comedy until I was like seven years in. So I'm giving myself like four years to really work on it and perfect it because I want to be taken seriously." Nikki explained that she does not want to record an album and "have people be interested because oh, there's this gimmick of a comedian singing — I really want it to be good on its own." Therefore, she said that she "may release music under a different name, just so it doesn't get too much attention. I really want to do it, and be good at it because I'm talented outside of the fact that I'm already an established person, you know?"

Nikki said that she loved being on The Masked Singer so much and "it's really changed my life for sure." She said that the show made her realize that "this is really what I want to do." Nikki admitted, "So this was just the jumpstart of like, 'Oh, I really love singing as a means of performing, more so I think than comedy at times.'" Because of this, Nikki now sings every day and has incorporated singing on her standup tour. She also sang the national anthem at the Thanksgiving Day Parade in St. Louis.

Nikki Glaser Wishes She Could Do Show Again After Her Vocal Cord Surgery

Nikki revealed that her voice coach, Amy Chapman, whom she worked with on The Masked Singer and still works with today, told her that it sounded like there was something on her vocal cords. She told her that she was not able to do what she should be able to do with her voice. During The Masked Singer, she went to a vocal cord doctor who recommended surgery for the issues with her vocal cords, including "polyps and damage and trauma, almost calluses, from me screaming in loud bars over the years, just the way I use my voice on stage doing impressions, kind of misusing my voice."

Two weeks after Nikki wrapped The Masked Singer, she had "extremely invasive" vocal cord surgery, followed by three weeks of silence to recover. Nikki marveled that she would never have gotten the surgery had it not been for The Masked Singer, and she wishes that she could do the show again "because my voice is so much better now." She was limited in her vocal ability due to the damage, and had to bring the songs down octaves because she could not hit certain notes. However, after the surgery, she can. Nikki said, "I really give credit to The Masked Singer for giving me the second chance at a possible other career."

Nikki impressed everyone with her performances as The Masked Singer's Snowstorm. She has such a fantastic voice that she could have a career in singing. The Masked Singer is such an inspiring show because it allows celebrities to explore singing without anyone knowing who they are. It is freeing for them to go on stage and perform without any preconceived notions about them. Nikki is the perfect example of someone who made the most of her time on The Masked Singer and took the show by (Snow)storm.
