The Masked Singer host Nick Cannon has been criticized for having children with multiple women in a very short amount of time, and now he's responding by claiming he's "having kids on purpose." The TV and radio personality is currently the host of the hit celebrity-filled competition series, which debuted in 2019. T-Pain, Wayne Brady, Kandi Burruss, LeAnn Rimes and Nick Lachey have all won the show. Cannon missed several episodes at the start of season 5 because he tested positive for COVID-19. Actress Niecy Nash filled in for him as the guest host on The Masked Singer. Cannon then made his triumphant return by posing as a wildcard contestant.

Cannon's relationships have made the news several times over the years. He and singer Mariah Carey got married in 2008. They share a twin boy and girl together. Unfortunate, the couple split up in 2014. Their marriage legally ended in 2016. He has a son and daughter, born in 2017 and 2020, respectively, with model Brittany Bell. Broadcast professional and DJ Abby De La Rosa gave birth to twins in June of this year. Then less than two weeks later, Cannon became a father for the seventh time when model Alyssa Scott gave birth to a baby boy.

During an interview with City Girls on Power 106 Los Angeles, radio host Cannon received some pointed advice from the hip-hop group regarding his personal life: "Just stay true to yourself and wrap it up...wrap it up and protect yourself." The Masked Singer host responded by admitting that he's not having these kids by accident. "I'm having these kids on purpose. I don't have no accident," he replied. "Trust me, there's a lot of people I could have got pregnant that I didn't. The ones that got pregnant are the ones who [were] supposed to get pregnant." At the start of the advice segment, Cannon blurted out, "I got more baby mamas...and they're still coming. I'm like a seahorse out here [with the way] I'm procreating."

Earlier this year when De La Rosa announced she was having twins, many fans took to social media to share their humorous and blunt reactions to Cannon having more children. One compared the Masked Singer host to Thanos collecting the Infinity Stones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise. Another shared a GIF of Oprah Winfrey giving away cars on her former talk show.

It's interesting that Cannon joked that he's "like a seahorse." While it's true that seahorses tend to mate back to back in a short span of time (thus where his comparison comes in), it's the male seahorses that carry the eggs. So if Cannon were actually like a seahorse, he would have been the one carrying all seven of his babies, not Carey, Bell, De La Rosa or Scott.

Cannon doesn't seem to share his personal life on social media, instead choosing to save that space for promoting the projects he's working on. Speaking of which, his family isn't the only part of his life that's getting bigger. Aside from hosting The Masked Singer and his own radio show, Cannon's VH1 series Wild 'N Out is set to return next month. He was fired from ViacomCBS, the media company that distributes the show, after making anti-Semitic comments but was re-hired after apologizing and promising to better himself through education. And he also has a daytime talk show launching in the fall.
