The Masked Singer has become one of the most popular reality TV competitions since it hit the air. Perhaps this is because it combines viewers' favorite things: music, celebrities, and mystery. It allows fans to participate by becoming detectives, showing their deductive skills, and showing just how well they know their favorite celebrities behind the masks.

This mystery singing competition has featured many celebrities from all different forms of entertainment and allowed them to showcase their musical talents. Fans have been wowed and pleasantly surprised each season, but when a Masked Singer performer is sent packing, viewers don't always like the decision. Some of them take to Reddit to discuss the contestants they believed were eliminated unfairly.

Rabbit

Rabbit appeared in the very first season of The Masked Singer and earned popularity for the impressive dance moves he brought to every performance. He was later revealed to be Joey Fatone from 'N Sync when he was eliminated in fourth place.

Unfortunately, Rabbit was eliminated right before the season 1 finale. Although he wasn't one of the best singers of the season, fans believed he showed the most well-rounded skills, and some are upset he was eliminated a too early. DavidJunior57 on Reddit says, "He truly exemplified what the show is all about, and in that way was the total package. It's a bummer that he couldn't make it to the finale week because (in my opinion) he deserved to."

Rottweiler

Rottweiler, later revealed to be American Idol star Chris Daughtry, made it all the way to the finale only to be runner-up to the Fox. Rottweiler showed off his talent in his Masked Singer performances of "Love Runs Out" by One Republic, "Someone You Loved" by Lewis Capaldi, and "Mr. Brightside" by The Killers.

The Rottweiler was up against a great competitor during his season, but some fans claim he deserved the victory. Some were also confused about why none of the judges seemed to guess that Daughtry was behind the mask, even though he arguably has one of the most recognizable voices. QG24 wrote, "But Rottweiler man. Not so much that he needed to win so much as who he got 2nd to. But that’s more some thinking Fox is ridiculously overrated more so than thinking Rottweiler was robbed."

Butterfly

According to some fans on Reddit, the Butterfly, also a contestant in season 2, was one of the most unfair eliminations. She was unveiled as Michelle Williams after her smackdown against Thingamajig, putting her in seventh place overall.

Butterfly performed challenging songs originally by Jessie J, Bon Jovi, and Demi Lovato. She showed an abundance of elegance in her intricate Masked Singer costume. Her performance of Imagine Dragon's "Believer" in her showdown against Thingamajig just wasn't enough to give her the edge. ProfessionalClerk911 took their opinion to Reddit and wrote, "When Butterfly got eliminated it just felt painful. Thingamajig was good but compared to her she was superior. But that's just my opinion.”

Kitty

Kitty was a fan-favorite with her gorgeous costume and sweet nature. She proved to be one of the best singers of the season with all her performances of popular diva hits. But unfortunately was passed up in votes. One upset fan, YourFavoriteEmoEmu rants, "I screamed really loud and threw pillows everywhere when Kitty got out. I even feel like she had the best performance of the night alongside Turtle! I MEAN HOW COULD YOU SING BACK TO BLACK PERFECTLY LIKE THAT AND LOOSE TO FROG AND RHINO???"

Astronaut

The Astronaut was one Masked Singer contestant who fooled the viewers with his lack of country song performances when he was later revealed to be the country star, Hunter Hayes. He beat out Kanga in their smackdown but was unable to make it past the sixth position.

There was much debate about whether or not Astronaut was wrongly eliminated because of his inconsistency in performances. Still, the general census agrees that he was unfairly eliminated on one of his better performance nights and deserved to be up there with the best. Dashie_Poo questions the authenticity of the votes and says, "I have never been so legitimately angry about this. Astronaut had a good night! Better than some of the others! I’m honestly beginning to think that the audience’s votes don’t matter."

Turtle

The Turtle, a season three contestant later revealed to be Jesse Mccartney, was another fan-favorite with his rocker-styled turtle costume and impressive vocals week after week. He made it all the way to the finale only to become runner-up to the Night Angel.

Turtle killed it week after week with his heartfelt ballads and pop hits. He was a fierce competitor with his professionally trained vocals which proved he deserved to be there in the finale. Fans truly believed he should have won the trophy against Night Angel and were upset that he couldn't accomplish that. CaracalClaws says, "He was winner material, and unlike Seasons 1 and 2, where the finalists felt pretty evenly matched, Turtle to me was significantly better than Night Angel."

Popcorn

Popcorn was a likable contestant with a soulful voice and bubbly personality. Her performances allowed her to get pretty far in the competition, even winning a smackdown against Snow Owls with "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You." Fans were sad to see her go and believed she had the potential to make it further. BlueMeconopsis wrote, "Taylor Dayne has had a hard time, and I wished she had been given more of a chance."

Mushroom

Mushroom, later revealed to be Aloe Blacc, was a fierce competitor in season 4. He was the first contestant to make it to the finale after competing in a smackdown earlier in the competition. Unfortunately, he lost to the Sun.

Mushroom made it all the way to the finale, escaping a near elimination in his smackdown against Broccoli. He proved himself a full-package competitor when he beatbozed the ending of his performance of Amy Winehouse's "Valerie." Many fans believe he out-shined the Sun throughout the competition and deserved to be the winner. Redditor Aviatrix084 commented, "Mushroom was the generalist, he had everything - energy, vocals, presence. Y'know who wins on energy, vocals, presence? Monster, Fox, NA. Mushroom should've won the finale. Robbed? Yeah, sort of!"

Seahorse

The Seahorse, who turned out to be Tori Kelly, was one of the best performers on the show. Grammy-winning singer Tori Kelly made a splash in the competition with her amazing performances of Rihanna, Celine Dion, and Britney Spears songs. In the end, she landed in fourth place.

Seahorse was beaten by the Crocodile in their smackdown. Fans were outraged that she wouldn't be able to progress to the finale after she proved she deserved to be there. Reddit user whomstwouldvethot wrote, "Super ridiculously annoyed that Seahorse got eliminated after the vocal acrobatics she finally decided to show. But then she was booked and busy at the time of her elimination, so I was like whatever. Didn’t bother to watch the finals tho."

Pepper

The Pepper was unveiled as pop queen Natasha Bedingfield in the sixth season of The Masked Singer. She was outvoted and eliminated in seventh place in the competition, and fans immediately hit Reddit to protest her elimination.

Fans spectulated about Pepper's identity from her noticeable accent and recognizable singing voice, and it didn't take them long to figure out it was Bedingfield. She didn't get much of a chance to show off her talent after being eliminated before Skunk and other competitors some fans feel didn't perform as well as Pepper. KwK10 wrote, "Pepper should not have been eliminated. ... And it's not just because she was my fave. They booted a potential winner."
