This season on The Masked Singer, there is no prediction that had given us more pause than that of Kangaroo. While we've previously shown how the arguments for both Jordin Sparks and Jordyn Woods made sense, this week's clues changed all that.
In the past, many of the clues we've pointed out could apply to both women. Other clues applied more to one woman than the other. Fans were strong on both sides. Many believing that Kangaroo sang too well for it to be Jordyn Woods. The thought process is that someone who had spent so much of her life on display via social media or reality TV would have at some point showed off or tried to capitalize on the ability to sing. It seemed hard to imagine that would have been kept secret. For others, while Kangaroo has done a great job it was not to the level of singing one would expect from a trained singer like the American Idol singer. Though she did undergo vocal cord surgery there are videos of her recent broadway performances and she sounds as amazing as ever.
This week the clues that were dropped blew up those debates and finally put an end to them once and for all. It is definitely Jordyn Woods, the ex bestie of Keeping up with the Kardashians star Kylie Jenner. There was a clue revealed that group A had 15.4 million Instagram followers between them. With the reveal of Gronk that leaves Turtle and Kangaroo. Everyone is pretty much in agreement that Turtle is former teen heartthrob Jesse McCartney. When you add McCartney's Instagram followers to those of NFL star Gronkowski's you need roughly a little over 11 million to get to that number. Jordin Sparks has less than 2 million Instagram followers while Woods who is definitely Instagram famous has just over 11 million. Exactly the number needed.
Kangaroo also spoke of being vilified by rumors of her past and talked about being put through hell this last year. While previously there had been mention of being in the press for the wrong reasons that could also apply to Sparks. The "No Air" singer had been in the press defending a photo of her husband and another woman. However, she was never vilified in that scenario. The new comments on the subject seem to clarify this could not be referring to Sparks. Instead, this more clearly fits with Woods's dramatic falling out with the Kardashian clan over cheating accusations. Another clue previously that threw many, including us off was the Australian connection. This week Kangaroo clarified that she had never lived in Australia. this seems to imply that the location wasn't really intended as a clue.
In previous weeks other clues - which included loss of a family member and an appearance by a brother close in age - applied to both Sparks and Woods. The "#23" on the jerseys which was famously Michael Jordan's number pointed to the first name of both potential guesses. The clue "Dee Jay" which could be interpreted to point to Sparks' son DJ, now clearly was meant to point to Woods's work as a DJ. The model airplane shown likely also referring to her modeling. Clues that seem more significant now that we know the social media celeb is Kangaroo, were the twitter symbol and the vine the Kangaroo was seen jumping over. These clues up well with her strong social media presence.
One of the more telling earlier clues was when Kangaroo said she was most likely to appear on a list with Seal who appeared on the last season of The Masked Singer, and boxer Mike Tyson. Like both of those celebrities, the Life of Kylie star famously has a gap between her front teeth. If there was any doubt before there is none now. Kangaroo is Jordyn Woods. While it's unclear whether the clues that overlapped with the other famous Jordin were merely a coincidence or not. It is possible the show is just getting more clever with trying to throw fans off the trail of the anonymous singers. It's clear their job is just going to keep getting harder.
