Jamie Foxx is slated to join season 3 of The Masked Singer as a guest panelist. The Oscar winner already has a home on the Fox network as host and executive producer of the game show Beat Shazam.

Foxx's name was a fixture on the singing competition which heads into its third season right after Super Bowl LIV concludes on February 2. Throughout season 2, the panelists and viewers alike mistook the masked Fox for the actor and television host. It was later revealed that season 2 winner Wayne Brady was behind the character. However, that hasn't deterred Jamie from making his way to the show. He will weigh in on who he thinks the true identities of the masked performers are, alongside current panelists Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke.

Foxx is living out his dream of appearing on a hit television show. According to the New York Post, he waited quietly in the wings until the perfect opportunity presented itself. He told the outlet in 2017, "Everything has changed, even when you look at movies, the actors that you love, are they really in the No. 1 movies? I was jealous that J. Lo has her show. I was jealous that The Rock has his show. Everybody’s got their TV show. I said, 'How do I come to television, where it’s fun?'"

Aside from adding Foxx to the season opener of the show, The Masked Singer is also introducing a slew of quirky new characters. Viewers will be able to guess who The Robot, The Frog, The Banana, The Mouse, Miss Monster and The Llama are while marveling at the ornate masks and high production value. In the past, stars like Tori Spelling, Antonio Brown, Gladys Knight, and Kelly Osbourne - to name a few - have left the panel and the public guessing. However, with the show's growing popularity and ratings, this season may boast the best celebrities yet. Among them, they have 69 Grammy nominations, more than 80 Gold records, 11 Super Bowl appearances, three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, more than 160 tattoos, and one even has a title in the Guinness Book of World Records.

This is a wonderful meta moment for Jamie Foxx to appear on Fox in a show that referenced him throughout its entire previous season. As the host of Beat Shazam, he already has a new fleet of followers who love his charming onscreen persona and impromptu singing outbursts. On The Masked Singer, Foxx will be fun to watch alongside wacky Ken Jeong and flirty Jenny McCarthy. He and Nicole Scherzinger are friends in real life, so they'll have wonderful chemistry, and if fans are lucky, we just might hear a mini collaboration between him and Robin Thicke. Foxx has always been a strong admirer of other people's talent. He's also been wonderful at nurturing people while keeping the mood fun and light on set.
