Even though it has been over 80 years since the P.L. Travers' novel Mary Poppins was first published, the "practically perfect" nanny has maintained her popularity. The book has seven sequels, and has been adapted into multiple medias, including a Broadway musical, a Radio play, and of course the hit 1964 Disney film. In 2013, Saving Mr. Banks was released in theaters, a look behind the scenes at how the film Mary Poppins was made. And now filming, with a planned release 54 years after the original, is Mary Poppins Returns.

Mary Poppins Returns stars Emily Blunt as the titular nanny and Lin-Manuel Miranda as her friend Jack. The story is about Mary Poppins returning to the now-grown Banks children -- whom she nannied in the original film -- after a tragedy. The adult Michael Banks (Ben Whishaw) has three children of his own when Mary returns to his and his sister Jane's (Emily Mortimer) life.

Both The Daily Mail and Best of Emily Blunt have take to Twitter with new set photos, showing Blunt and Miranda in costume. With them are some small children, probably the children of Michael Banks, who have not been seen yet:

In one set of photos, it looks like Mary is pedaling a bike while Jack and two children seem to be sitting on some kind of extension. Mary has previously been shown to be a magical person, so it is possible that some kind of CGI will be inserted later to make this more than just another bike ride through London.

The photos only show two children, but one of the few things known about the upcoming sequel is that Michael Banks has three children. The absence of the third one is probably an element of the scene they are filming. The earlier film involved Mary taking the children on what seemed like everyday outings -- often in the company of her friend Bert -- only for extraordinary things to happen. It seems like this scene might be similar to those earlier ones, where a simple walk took them inside a chalk drawing or a visit to Uncle Albert had them all giggling on the ceiling.

Mary Poppins Returns also features Dick Van Dyke as  Mr. Dawes Jr. -- son of Mr. Dawes who Van Dyke played in the original film. It also features Meryl Steep as Mary Poppins' cousin Topsy, Julie Walters as Ellen the housekeeper, Angela Lansbury as a balloon seller, and Colin Firth William Wetherall Wilkins.
