The Ms. Marvel post-credit scene is explained by the reported The Marvels' synopsis. After being largely detached from the bigger MCU, Iman Vellani's Disney+ series saved its biggest cameo for the final episode. The Ms. Marvel finale post-credits scene surprisingly featured Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, as she finds herself in Kamala Khan's New Jersey bedroom. It's still unclear how exactly Carol ended up switching places with her contemporary, although it has already been debunked that Ms. Marvel simply shape-shifted. Instead, Carol and Kamala were revealed to have switched places.Despite this, there are still questions about how exactly the swap happened. Now, the reported The Marvels plot description may offer an explanation for this. @CaptainMarvelNews shared a synopsis for the upcoming Nia DaCosta-directed film, and it details what happens to Carol Danvers after the events of Avengers: Endgame. As she goes on her new journey, her powers end up being intertwined with Ms. Marvel's, leading to them switching places. The same is true for Monica Rambeau/Photon's powers. What To Expect From The Marvels

Specific plot details for The Marvels remain scant at the moment. Marvel Studios has a string of projects lined up before the Captain Marvel sequel hits theaters in July 2023, so Disney can delay promoting the much-anticipated blockbuster. Despite this, DaCosta’s The Marvels was among the projects featured at D23 Expo, where the film debuted its first look. Some information about its narrative was also shared, including Danvers' relationship with Kamala and Monica. While Ms. Marvel idolizes Captain Marvel, Photon has a different opinion of her given their history as seen in the original Captain Marvel movie from 2019.

Instead of continuously focusing on Larson's Carol by simply making Captain Marvel 2 like previous MCU sequels, The Marvels effectively makes Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau co-headliners for the upcoming film. Given this, expect that their respective arcs will be focused on their own growth, with references to the last time fans saw them in the franchise. At the same time, based on what's known about The Marvels, it does sound like Larson's Captain Marvel will be at the center of the narrative as she becomes the common link between her new teammates.

After The Marvels, the trio is expected to reconvene again at some point within the Multiverse Saga. That's assuming that they will go their separate ways after their initial outing in DaCosta's forthcoming Marvel Studios movie. Whatever the case may be, the team will most likely join the bigger MCU as the Avengers fight their new big bad, Kang the Conqueror, in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Perhaps, they may even team up again in the possible Ms. Marvel season 2. It all depends on the events of The Marvels.
