Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales may hint at a possible map expansion of Insomniac's New York in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, with Peter Parker revealing that he's moved to Queens at the end of the game. The full sequel to 2018's Marvel's Spider-Man is expected to be huge, with brand new powers for both of Marvel's Spider-Man characters being shown during the game's reveal trailer. While both games have had the same map in Manhattan, NYC, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 could possibly have a map featuring all five boroughs of New York City.

During multiple conversations with Peter in Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Peter tells Miles about his renovations of Aunt May's house, which is now his own. In one of the conversations, Miles asks if he needs help in Queens with the renovations but Peter refuses, stating that Miles should stay being Spider-Man in Manhattan. Peter is now living in Queens, likely with MJ, in Aunt May's house. While players are never shown Peter's new house in cutscenes, it's possible that it could be a location in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, like in 2005's Ultimate Spider-Man.

Now that Peter is seemingly living in Queens, it would make sense for his new home to get some cutscene time in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, or even for the sequel to have a bigger map spanning both Manhattan and Queens. It would make sense for Queens to be included in the new map, since it looks as though Peter lives there now. It was great to swing through New York in Marvel's Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but it would be even better if the next installment expanded that map, as the only other Spider-Man game to feature the borough was Treyarch's comic book-inspired follow-up to 2004's Spider-Man 2.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Could Have An Even Bigger Map

Marvel's Spider-Man on PS4

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will feature two Spider-Men at once, so it would make sense for Insomniac to also upgrade their surroundings to include more space. Both of Marvel's Miles Morales and Peter Parker have outgrown superhero-ing in only one borough, and the two can truly flourish in a much bigger playground - that playground being the entirety of New York City. Manhattan isn't the only place where superhero events occur in any of the Marvel universes, so having a larger map with more areas in the NYC area would serve well for more side quests and DLC stories with other iconic Marvel heroes. A bigger map could pair well with an even bigger story in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

While there has been no confirmation that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will contain a larger map, the aforementioned tease from Miles Morales may hint that the Queens area will be included in some way. A larger map could help the game manage its dual protagonists - as well as accommodate the growing list of villains in Insomniac's Marvel game universe - while also adding more depth and side quests into the story. Judging from dialogue from Spider-Man: Miles Morales and the expected size of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, it would make sense for there to be a bigger map in store for fans.
