Following the post-credits scenes in Marvel's Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the symbiote is clearly coming to New York and there are a lot of ways it could factor into the highly-anticipated sequel. The symbiote will likely bring the infamous black suit with it and will assuredly introduce one of the wallcrawler's most iconic villains, but it could also have a major impact on the actual gameplay.

[Warning: Spoilers for Spider-Man: Miles Morales below]

In the post-credits scenes for both Marvel's Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Norman Osborn is attempting to use the symbiote to cure his son's illness. With the symbiote already forming a bond with Harry Osborn, Venom will absolutely be making an appearance as one of the sequel's primary villains, but the symbiote is also tied to Spider-Man's incredibly popular black suit. In the comics, the symbiote amplifies negative emotions and Venom's form is traditionally an imitation of Spider-Man after Peter rejects the symbiote. So with Norman demanding that Harry be released from the tank in Miles Morales' post-credits scene, it's more than possible that the symbiote will make it's way to Spider-Man before the villain makes his first appearance.

If the sequel to Marvel's Spider-Man follows the traditional details of the comics, the black suit will come before Venom. And while the symbiote could make it's way to Miles Morales, it's most likely that the parasite will bond with Peter Parker. After the death of Aunt May and the emergence of a new Spider-Man in New York, Peter's potential sadness and jealously would make a prime target for the symbiote. If the symbiote then turned those feelings into anger, it would make for an incredibly interesting storyline that could result in something crazy like a Spider-Man vs. Spider-Man fight. Miles could be put in a position where he's forced to fight Peter to help free him of the bond with the symbiote, maybe even with the help of his bioelectric powers.

The Symbiote Could Help Peter Parker Match Miles Morales' Bioelectricity

How

In Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Miles' bioelectric venom makes for incredibly fun gameplay where players are able to incorporate a bunch of really cool abilities wth the series' already great combat, but it now feels like Peter is trailing behind. While Peter has access to more gadgets, his core gameplay doesn't pack quite as much energy as Miles', but while Peter has the symbiote that could change. It may only be temporary, but a symbiote-based ability would elevate Peter's gameplay for players and allow for a really cool boss fight between the two heroes.

Insomniac Games has done a great job with its Spider-Man series so far, and the symbiote is just the next step. The symbiote is really cool because there are all sorts of creative ways to use it and Insomniac has already started by bonding it to Harry Osborn, as opposed to Venom's traditional host in Eddie Brock. Venom and the black suit are wildly popular, so their involvement in the Marvel's Spider-Man sequel will be a major factor in the game's story and the usage of the symbiote has endless possibilities.
