Marvel's Moon Knight is moving closer to production, with filming reportedly expected to begin in November 2020. The production dates for the show, which will introduce pivotal new characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, were up in the air as the entertainment industry continues to reel from the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe. Prior reports suggested a fall filming schedule was in the offing, but that news is now all but assured.

Moon Knight hasn't received the same hype as some of the upcoming MCU shows like Loki and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, as it's more of an unknown property for non-comic fans. The character, also known as Marc Spector, was created in August 1975, with martial arts and armed combat skills. Moon Knight appeared in some animated programs, but this television show will be his live-action debut, with Spector likely to appear in MCU films after the television show airs.

The Disney+ series remains on a solid track for a 2022 debut. According to a listing from Production WeeklyMoon Knight - which has a working title of "Good Faith," - will begin filming in the middle of November, with a target date of November 16. Initial filming is expected to last about six months. Beyond that, all that's really known about Moon Knight is that Jeremy Slater, of The Umbrella Academy, is set to serve as the series' head writer.

Despite an expectation of filming beginning in exactly seven months, there has been no public casting news surrounding the series yet. This has allowed fans to cast their dream choices for the leading roles as speculation abounds. One actor floated to play Moon Knight is Daniel Radcliffe, who has plenty of experience playing a franchise leader after portraying Harry Potter in eight films; he took time out of his busy schedule to debunk Moon Knight rumors. Another actor who has been asked about playing Moon Knight is Oliver Jackson-Cohen, who recently starred in The Invisible Man.

Fears of a significant production delay were valid in the MCU. The entirety of the company's "Phase 4" releases have been affected by the coronavirus. Meanwhile, filming has been halted for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, with no continuation date forthcoming. The television slate for the MCU coming to Disney+ may see significant delays, depending on how the company executives want to deal with the release schedule. For now, however, Moon Knight is still on track, with a mid-November filming start seemingly locked into place.
