Marvel's Midnight Suns will feature a large cast of superheroes to fight Lilith's demonic hoards, and here is every hero we know so far. Firaxis Games released its first gameplay trailer that revealed more playable characters past the announcement, and each will feature unique fighting abilities that reflect their superpowers. Marvel's Midnight Suns will feature twelve playable characters at launch, meaning more heroes could join the roster in the future.

Players will team up with some of the biggest names in Marvel's universe of superheroes to defend Earth from Lilith's demon army. A character known only as the Caretaker has resurrected the Marvel team to combat this threat. In addition, characters from groups like the Avengers, X-Men, and Midnight Sons will appear on the battlefield. During combat, special attacks will be displayed on cards, using environmental items like explosive barrels and collapsible terrain to defeat opponents.

Marvel's Midnight Suns game will feature The Hunter, the first customizable player character in Marvel's video game universes. Players will be able to determine Hunter's gender, appearance, and superpowers. Hunter is the child of Lilith, the Mother of Demons, who is the game's primary antagonist. After centuries locked in a crypt, Earth's heroes have woken Hunter to fight their mother's army once more. Marvel's Midnight Suns reveal trailer showed Dr. Strange and Nico Minoru assisting with their resurrection, and the gameplay trailer confirmed their status as playable characters.

Marvel's most prominent team is the Avengers, whose members take three slots of Marvel's Midnight Suns roster. Captain America, Iron Man, and Captain Marvel will stand beside the Hunter in defense of Earth, along with Dr. Strange. The Wolverine, a prominent member of the X-Men, will join them. Wolverine appears to be a melee-oriented character, moving closer to enemies to deal immense damage. Though their combat styles are unconfirmed, Captain America and Iron Man performed combo attacks in Marvel's Midnight Suns reveal trailer.

The mystical heroes of Marvel's universe will have a significant presence in Marvel's Midnight Suns. The gameplay trailer featured New Mutants' Magick, Vampire Hunter Blade, and Ghost Rider as allies. Magick is seen using her portals during combat along with her sword. Blade wields his famous 'bladarangs' in area-of-effect (AOE) attacks on demonic enemies and shows off his fangs to Hunter. It is unknown whether Blade will use his Vampiric powers in combat. Marvel's Midnight Suns' combat style for Ghost Rider is unknown, but his flaming chains suggest ranged potential in battle.

Other characters are mentioned or appear in the gameplay trailer that may not participate in combat. The Caretaker, who seems to be partially responsible for the Hunter's resurrection, has a significant presence in-game. Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, is mentioned in dialogue but does not appear. More will likely be known as the game draws closer to release, but the potential for further characters both narrative and playable remains exciting.
