Deciding which contraband to hide in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is an early-game choice with somewhat significant consequences. Following the end of Chapter 1 where the Guardians of the Galaxy rescue a space llama from the Quarantine Zone, the Milano's power is shut down by a Nova Corp prison vessel. Peter semi-discretely tells Drax to hide the space llama in a secret area aboard the ship, but he returns with what appears to be a pile of junk. Peter quickly cuts off communication with Nova Corp, and the team talks about what is in the pile.

Unsurprisingly, Rocket has illegal technology stored aboard the Milano. While the technology does matter, it has nothing to do with Rocket crafting perks in Guardians of the Galaxy for Star-Lord. The team continues to argue about what's better to hide, the space llama or the illegal technology, and Gamora brings up a valid point claiming that the creature could be a deadly lifeform carrying an even deadlier disease. Peter ultimately gets to make the final decision for which contraband the team should hide, but players may be wondering which is the best choice.

For starters, hiding the space llama is a 7,000 unit fine for the Guardians, while hiding the illegal technology is an 8,000 unit fine. Failing to make a choice or staying silent results in a 9,000 unit fine. Despite the difference, no fine impacts how long it takes to beat Marvel's Guardians of the GalaxyTypically, third-person action-adventure shooters have a large currency system that makes currency in the thousands seem inconsequential, but either fine sends the team into panic mode as they scramble to find enough units to pay it off. Some dialogue is changed with the numbers, but decisions that follow in the next major team conversation are the same regardless of which option is chosen.

Which Contraband You Should Hide In Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

How Long It Takes To Beat Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

No matter which choice is made the space llama will join the team in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. However, choosing to hide the creature over the illegal tech will make fighting one of the bosses of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy more challenging later in the story. While there isn't a wrong choice to be made here, it seems like hiding the illegal tech is the best choice for Star-Lord to make.

Regardless of the choice made, players can choose to avoid paying the fine altogether later on in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Additionally, altered dialogue exchanges between team members will occur as the Guardians explore locations. Unlike the choice in a later chapter regarding Groot or Rocket's fate with Lady Hellbender, the choice to hide either the space llama or Rocket's illegal tech has no significant impact on how the story plays out.
