An updated Marvel's Avengers roadmap reveals a slew of new content, including the addition of Spider-Man on PlayStation consoles, coming on November 30. The superhero action title, developed by Crystal Dynamics, has continued to receive ongoing content in the form of free updates since its launch last year. Before release Marvel's Avengers announced that Spider-Man would join the game's roster, coming exclusively to PlayStation consoles, and the wall-crawler was recently confirmed to be arriving before the end of 2021.

The last major update to Marvel's Avengers came in the form of Black Panther - War for Wakanda, a large free expansion which took players to the iconic and advanced African nation. Black Panther himself was added as a playable hero, bringing with him his own share of unique tools and abilities. Since War for Wakanda's launch in August 2021, no new gameplay content has been added, but Crystal Dynamics has confirmed plans for ongoing support until at least the end of the year. A difficult new endgame challenge for Marvel's Avengers players, titled Klaw Raid: Discordant Sound, has been teased over the last few weeks. The raid will have a team of four heroes overcome complex puzzles and powerful enemies, with the mission ending in an epic brawl with the supervillain Klaw.

An updated Marvel's Avengers roadmap, posted to the game's news blog, reveals an abundance of new content coming to the game on November 30. This upcoming update will include the challenging Klaw Raid: Discordant Sound endgame mission on all platforms. Meanwhile, PlayStation gamers alone will receive Spider-Man as a playable hero in an event titled With Great Power. The wall-crawler's story will be told through a series of challenges, which will detail how he came to cooperate with the Avengers team. Other improvements, such as a Power Level cap increase and the ability to earn cosmetic items through gameplay, will also be included in the November 30 update.

The massive Marvel's Avengers update coming on November 30 arrives on the heels of recent controversy. Back in October, paid consumable items were added to the superhero title's in-game Marketplace. These booster items allowed paying players to earn additional experience and resources during gameplay, which many fans saw as creating a pay-to-win scenario. After much backlash and fan outcry, Crystal Dynamics recently removed the controversial microtransactions from Marvel's Avengers. The adjustment also came with a message from the developer, with the hopes of improving communication with the game's playerbase going forward.

Ever since launch, Marvel's Avengers has struggled to find solid footing amidst criticisms of microtransactions and a lack of endgame content. However, the comic book adventure's upcoming update looks to address many players' concerns. The Klaw raid and the addition of Spider-Man will bring much-needed content to the game, though many players will likely be turned off by the web-slinging hero's PlayStation exclusivity. Meanwhile, changes such as adjusted cosmetic prices, a gear upgrade system and earnable cosmetics are essential to improving the health of the superhero looter experience.
