Shortly after the launch of Marvel's Avengers, players are noticing some bugs that turn Captain America into a less dignified leader. Marvel's Avengers has received mixed reviews since its release on September 4th. Despite it being berated for its technical issues and multiplayer, it still topped the sales charts when it was released, and was the most downloaded beta on PS4 in PlayStation history.

Marvel's Avengers is an action RPG brawler that gives players the chance to step into the shoes of some of the most popular Marvel superheroes. The characters included at launch are essentially the original MCU Avengers, including Captain America, Black Widow, Thor, the Hulk, and Iron Man, with Hawkeye replaced with Ms. Marvel for now. In the campaign, players will unlock each of these characters one by one as part of the story.

Each character comes with their own set of abilities, skill tree, and outfits. It seems that the glitches on poor Captain America may be the fault of these outfits, as most but not all of the glitches appear to happen when Cap puts on his retro skin. Several players have posted Captain America's face on Reddit looking wacky while wearing his costume from WWII, and it's not a pretty sight. PopcornSuicide, owendegal, and jakbutt have all posted their struggles with glitches that move the superhero's nose around as if it was made of putty, glue his lips together so only his jaw moves when he speaks, and make his eyes look like they have popped clean out of his skull, as if he sneezed too hard.

Square Enix plans to add more characters to Marvel's Avengers as DLC, and Kate Bishop and Hawkeye are confirmed as free releases. Spider-Man is also among those confirmed characters, but players will only see him in 2021 and as a PlayStation exclusive. There are rumors of many more characters coming to the game, but none of their identities have yet been confirmed.

Fans of the Marvel universe are excited to see more characters, especially favorites from the comics that film-only fans may not be aware of, like Ms. Marvel. Let's hope that any characters Square Enix decides to add to Marvel's Avengers will have their faces stuck solidly onto their heads, because releasing a game with a glitch that makes one of the most popular superheros look like a nightmare with googly eyes is not the best look to start out on.
