A bizarre Marvel's Avengers bug lets Hawkeye fly like Iron Man and leap like the Incredible Hulk. The multiplayer superhero simulator, created by Crystal Dynamics, lets players work together to save the world as Earth's Mightiest Heroes. While many fans feel that Marvel's Avengers needs more flying characters, letting Clint Barton soar across the sky probably wasn't an intended solution.

While the game has been praised for its roster of unique playable heroes and lineup of Marvel Cinematic Universe outfits, Marvel's Avengers has struggled to find its footing since release. Major criticism has been aimed at the game's microtransactions, with a single costume costing up to $14, and the multiplayer portion of the game is considered repetitive by players. Many technical issues have also plagued the game, with even the game's best updates almost always undermined by the addition of more bugs and glitches. For example, the game's most recent update made Marvel's Avengers crash PS5 consoles, though this issue was eventually fixed by Crystal Dynamics.

Now a brand-new Marvel's Avengers bug seems to give Hawkeye the abilities of his superpowered teammates. The avenging archer typically swinging around the map using grappling hook arrows, but Reddit user BluXSe7en  was able to spontaneously fly around during a recent session. The glitch appears to give Barton the traversal abilities of Iron Man, letting him fire arrows as he soars, though he adopts a stiff T-pose for most of his mid-air maneuvers. Meanwhile, Redditor mkpeez1 encountered a similarly hilarious glitch that lets Hawkeye leap across the map alongside the Incredible Hulk. While Iron Hawk and Hulkeye are able to get around much faster than Hawkeye, this feature was probably unintended.

Amidst a string of technical errors and a lack of new content, many fans fear that Marvel's Avengers will soon be abandoned by Crystal Dynamics. However, a recent tease from the Marvel's Avengers Hawkeye actor suggests that additional content may actually be on the way. Voice actor Giacomo Gianniotti revealed that he was finishing up new recordings for the master marksman, likely intended for new story content coming in the future. Rumors suggest that Marvel's Avengers will soon add new characters like She-Hulk and Jane Foster, so perhaps the title will be able to hit an unexpected bullseye.

Marvel's Avengers is known for its technical issues, but giving Hawkeye surprising superhuman abilities is a particularly amusing issue to encounter. The always-accurate Avenger is able to hold his own among gods using a simple bow and arrow, but the addition of flight or super strength certain wouldn't hurt his usefulness. Unfortunately, Hawkeye's enhanced traversal abilities are likely to be fixed by Crystal Dynamics before long.
