It's been a long time coming, but Square Enix's Marvel's Avengers is finally shown off in detail. At E3 2019Marvel's Avengers saw the spotlight as part of the Square Enix press conference. There, it received a new cinematic trailer that shared the basis of the plot of this highly anticipated game. What's more, a release date on May 15, 2020 was also confirmed.

 A game based on The Avengers has been on the cards for some time, after it was initially revealed back in 2017. Since then, details have been scant on the ground, although this year more information has been trickled out by Square Enix. For starters, it was confirmed that it will have cooperative play and cinematic storytelling, while the game's platforms have also been confirmed.

Plenty of other details about Marvel's Avengers were also confirmed. The most important to fans is no doubt the release date of the title, with Marvel's Avengers set to release on May 15, 2020 for . Alongside this, the game's star-studded cast was also revealed, including Troy Baker as Bruce Banner, Laura Bailey as Black Widow, and Nolan North as Tony Stark.

In terms of gameplay, Marvel's Avengers is going to be an action-adventure title that focuses around the different heroes, with up to four players joining in cooperatively. The roster of heroes will definitely include Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Thor, and Hulk, as well as Ant-Man. However, this roster will grow over time - and these extra heroes will all be added for free.

Some gamers will also have the opportunity to play the game early. The beta for Marvel's Avengers will arrive on PS4 first, and those who pre-order the game will be able to get early access to the title. On top of that, other benefits will also be made available to PS4 players going forward, although exactly what these are was not specified as part of the presentation.
