Players who log into the in-game Marketplace for Marvel's Avengers will find a brand-new skin for Captain America, the American Dream Outfit, which has caused a bit of confusion amongst fans online. Cap has gotten a lot of love of late in Marvel's Avengers. For instance, Captain America's MCU skin joined the Marketplace in late June, which was soon thereafter followed by a cosmetics sale in honor of his July 4 birthday.

Plenty of other Avengers have received new cosmetic items in recent months, too, of course. Marvel Cinematic Universe skins for Hulk and Iron Man surfaced several weeks ago in mid-May, allowing players to adorn fan-favorite heroes in their big-screen attire. Plus, Black Widow recently received an extra outfit in celebration of her standalone movie, giving fans an opportunity to snag the all-white suit she dons in the MCU's latest theatrical release. Black Widow isn't the only Marvel's Avengers character getting new threads, though.

The latest weekly update for Marvel's Avengers adds a new Captain America costume to the marketplace. Now users can purchase the American Dream Outfit, which sees a shirtless Steve Rogers donning cargo pants, boots, aviators, and dog tags. Most interesting, however, is that the character can still attack the shield to his back, despite not wearing a back harness for it. Fans on Twitter have, naturally, questioned the strangeness of it all, while others joke that such a phenomenon must be thanks to his super solider skin.

We'll have to attribute this particular design misstep to video game logic and roll with it. This certainly isn't the worst offense, but it does have fans wondering where some of Captain America's other suits are in the world of Marvel's Avengers. Notably, many still patiently await news about an in-game version of the suit Chris Evans wore in Winter Soldier.

Questionable cosmetics aside, players have plenty to look forward to in terms of Marvel's Avengers content. In fact, some would argue the best is yet to come, given that Black Panther's War for Wakanda DLC remains on track for a late 2021 release. Of course, the likes of Spider-Man still serve as a tantalizing carrot on a stick, too.
