The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has become one of the most popular series on television, winning several Emmy's and Golden Globes the last two years. The series just wrapped up its third season in December of 2019 and fans are already excited for season 4 to be released later this year.
Season 3 ended with a lot of loose ends such as what will become of Midge's career and what is going on with Susie's gambling? There were so many changes in season 3 and fans want to know what will happen to their beloved characters in season 4. Here are the 10 things we want to see in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel's fourth season:
Abe's Career Change
When fans first met Abe Weissman he was an advanced algebra professor at Columbia University. Then he got a great opportunity to work at his dream job, Bell Labs. Working at Bell Labs seemed to be a great fit for Abe as he was eager to prove himself there, but it didn't last. Abe not only quit the university, but he also quit Bell Labs in search of his purpose in life in season 3.
He attempted to start a paper with a few wanna-be activists before taking a risk and writing an article about his old friend's play. When fans last saw Abe, he had just been asked to be a theater critic for a paper. This is quite a career shift for the mathematician. Fans are excited to see where Abe's new career will take him.
Rose Seeing Midge Perform
Midge just keeps expanding her fan base, and more and more people are finding her hilarious. Except one person. Rose still hasn't technically seen one of Midge's performances as she was heavily intoxicated for the only she attended.
Midge doesn't give up though, she insists that her mother watch her act at least once. Most people want their parents to be supportive of their dreams and be proud of them and Midge is no different. Fans are hoping in season 4 that Rose will give Midge and her career a chance and stop being so close minded as to what being a comedian is all about.
New Places
Fans of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel have enjoyed getting to see the world through Midge's eyes as she travels around for her performances. While everyone loves seeing Midge at her home turf, New York, watching the comedian enjoy life on the road is exciting.
Whether it's the Catskills, Vegas, Paris, Florida, fans are always up for a new Mrs. Maisel adventure. In season 4, it would be interesting to see Midge get even more out of her comfort zone by going to a new country like Ireland. Who wouldn't want to see Midge performing at an Irish pub?
Imogene's Shift
Mrs. Imogene Cleary is going through quite the change at the end of season 3. When fans first met Imogene in season 1 she was content with her life as a wife and a mother on the Upper West Side. To Imogene being married was the most important thing as she frowns upon the divorced women in her exercise class.
But there is no more missus nice Imogene by the end of season 3. She has kicked Archie out and enrolled in secretary school. Fans are eager to see what is in store for this new version of Imogene who is kicking butt and taking names.
Joel and Mei Lin's Relationship
It appears as if Joel is finally moving after his divorce in season 3 when he meets Mei Lin. The couple had a bit of a rough start as they were already having disagreements before were even a couple and they don't know many details about each other.
By the end of season 3, however, it appeared the couple was only getting stronger and there was no sign of a break up happening soon. Fans are curious to see what will happen with the couple in season 4. Will they make it last or will Joel crawl back to Midge?
New Characters
While fans adore the main characters on the series such as Susie, Midge, and Joel, they can't help but be excited when a new character enters the scene to shake things up. There were a lot of new faces in season 3 including Shy Baldwin, Reggie, and Mei Lin.
Fans never know who Midge will go on tour with or go out with or who Susie will fight with. With each new character comes a new challenge or opportunity and it'll be interesting to see what new face shakes things up in season 4 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
A Date for Midge and Lenny
Season 3 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel left fans on a bit of a cliffhanger when it comes to Midge and Lenny's relationship. The once casual friends seem to be getting a little closer these days.
The two went out for a night of dancing in Florida and the night ended with Lenny asking Midge, "Maybe someday before I'm dead..." The real Lenny Bruce tragically passed away when he was only 40 years old. So Midge better take Lenny up on that date soon. Season 4 might be just the right time for these two funny friends to explore the other side of their relationship.
Susie Concurring Her Gambling
Everyone is rooting for Susie as she is the underdog Rockaways girl who is quickly rising to the top with her star, Mrs. Maisel. But there is one thing that is threatening to hold Susie back from reaching the top and that is her problem with gambling.
Susie's bad habit began in season 3 once her and Midge began to make a little bit of money from Midge's tour with Shy. It started out as fun but things rapidly got worse and season 3 ended with Susie having to devise an insurance fraud scheme to get back the money she lost. Fans are all pulling for Susie to concur her demon in season 4.
Love Interest for Susie
Midge has had her share of love interests over the course of the series' three season run such as Joel, Benjamin, and recently Lenny. But so far there has been no love life for Susie at all, not even one date.
Susie is not exactly an affectionate lovey-dovey type of person as she is often arguing with people or killing herself in order to take Midge to the top. This doesn't mean she couldn't have a love interest of her own though. Fans have seen small glimpses of Susie's softer side and maybe more of it will show itself in season 4. Maybe mister criss-cross, Chester will be the one to breakthrough. They do already live together after all.
Midge's Career Recovery
Fans were devastated for Midge when Reggie informed that she will no longer be touring with Shy Baldwin after she had packed up all of her hats and bows. This was such a huge opportunity for Midge and in the blink of an eye it was ruined. Midge is no stranger to setbacks as she has already experienced a few, like the time she got blacklisted by Sophie Lennon.
This time was extra heartbreaking though as Midge's career was really beginning to take off just to crash and burn. Will Midge simply go back to the Gaslight or will she find an even bigger and better to make it to the top? Fans are eagerly waiting for the return of the marvelous Mrs. Maisel to show the world that she always gets up after she falls.
