Amazon Prime's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4 is slated to begin production in January 2021. Mrs. Maisel is a period comedy-drama series that debuted on Prime Video in March 2017. The show features Rachel Brosnahan as Miriam "Midge" Maisel, a housewife, who after separating from her husband in the early 1960s, finds a new career in standup comedy in New York. On the grounds of its overwhelming popularity, the Emmy winning show was renewed for a fourth season in December 2019. But production couldn't begin as per schedule due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The show's creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, however, confirmed during Woodstock Film Festival virtual panel (via TV Line) on Thursday that The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4 will begin filming, January 7, 2021. As per Sherman-Palladino, the show is already in its pre-production phase, i.e., the costume fittings are already happening, and the sets are also under development. On a creative level too, the Mrs. Maisel team is working on scripts and storylines. And by December, the table reads will take place with all the stars involved. Shooting will then, subsequently, kick-start in January.

This revelation will finally allow fans to take a deep breath after many had been anxious about the fate of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4, given the unprecedented circumstances. Mrs. Maisel's previous season had arguably hit some wrong notes, which was evident by a drop in approval ratings. But now that the pandemic has allowed the show's creative team more than ample time to work on the scripts, viewers can safely hope for season 4 to be better than all previous iterations.
