Throughout Marvelous Mrs. Maisel's three seasons, there have been many love affairs, such as Midge and Joel's back and forth relationship, that fans either love or they hate. While fans do watch the series because Midge is hilarious and they can't wait to see who Susie will tell off next, they also watch it to find out who will end up with who.

While most fans focus on Midge and her relationships with Benjamin and Joel, there are a few other noteworthy romances on the series. Some couples prove love is real and triumph over their battles together, and some couple just cause each other's battles. Here are the five best couples on Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and the five that make no sense:

Makes No Sense: Penny and Joel

No one was a fan of the Joel and Penny Pann relationship, not even Joel's own parents or even Joel himself really. The relationship was doomed from the beginning as it did not get started in the best way. Even though both Joel and Penny tried to make the relationship work, it just didn't quite jive.

How long were they even together before Joel crawled back to Midge? Not very long at all. Penny might have been convinced that the two could make it as a real couple, but no one else was buying it.

Perfect: Moishe and Shirley

The Maisels are not everyone's cup of tea, but they don't seem to mind as they are each other's perfect cup of crazy loud tea. Moishe and Shirley seem to be the only ones who understand each other's unique way of doing things, and they are always on the same side like when it came to Abe having his friends over.

The two are content in their lavish Queens home and the fact that they annoy the neighbors and everyone else around them never seems to faze them. Moishe and Shirley are perfectly matched when it comes to obnoxiousness.

Makes No Sense: Midge and Lenny Bruce

While fans adore Lenny and Midge as friends, the thought of them as a real couple doesn't seem to be such a good idea. The two do have a lot in common as they are both stand-up comedians with criminal records, but they seem to be lacking in a deep connection.

Also, they are rarely in the same area at the same time and only occasionally bump into each other. The two laugh and talk like old friends, and maybe that's how it should stay. But things do appear to be heating up between the pair, and fans are excited to see what will happen between the comedic friends in season 4.

Perfect: Midge and Benjamin

Most fans were rooting for Midge and Joel to get back together until they met Benjamin in season 2. Midge and Benjamin had a bit of an awkward start, but it wasn't long before fans and Midge fell in love with him.

Benjamin and Midge were the perfect weird couple as they both accepted and admired the weirdness in each other. They also attempted to learn about the other one's passion and tried to become more invested in their separate worlds. Benjamin was so in love with Midge that he sat through Abe's interrogation and gave him all his records just to prove he was worthy of marrying Midge. If that's not real love, then what is?

Makes No Sense: Sophie Lennon and Gavin

This unfortunate relationship made everyone uncomfortable. First Sophie Lennon was not attracted to Gavin, and the next thing you know, they are loudly fooling around at the theater venue where everyone they work with can hear them.

If this wasn't bad enough, Sophie then brings their relationship drama to the stage and tries to pin Gavin down for an answer about their romantic dealings while they are supposed to be in character and performing in front of many people. The two aren't even an official couple, and they are already causing chaos and being toxic. Wedding bells are not being predicted for their future at this time.

Perfect: Archie and Imogene

In season 3, Archie and Imogene hit a rough patch, but everyone is pulling for the couple to work it out as they clearly love each other and have three children together. Archie knows he messed up and is now so desperate to prove he's sorry that he just announces to anyone who will listen that he loves his wife.

It is clear the two are meant to be when Imogene sadly tells Midge how she thought Archie would be in her tree forever, even though it is a little creepy that he would sit in the tree by her bedroom every night. Hopefully the two find a way to reconcile in season 4.

Makes No Sense: Mary and Her Husband

Fans didn't learn much about Mary during her time on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, but it's safe to say they learned her marriage probably won't be a huge success. During Mary's wedding reception, Midge made the unfortunate decision to make a toast, which resulted in her spilling the beans about Mary's shotgun wedding.

Mary ended her wedding by crying, not tears of joy, and confessing the truth to Midge about why she and her husband were getting married so quickly. Maybe it would have been more fitting to have Mary's wedding reception in the punishment room after all.

Perfect: Midge and Joel

Will they, won't they? This is the big question for Marvelous Mrs. Maisel fans. Everyone knows Joel messed up in the beginning, but even through it all, Midge and Joel have a strong bond and a deep love for each other.

When Midge is in trouble or lonely, she consistently turns to Joel, and Joel is always more than happy to be of service. The two not only have history and children together but also a deep connection as they confide in and support one another. There's no denying that the two have definitely had their ups and downs, but fans can't help but hope that the two will rekindle their relationship one day.

Makes No Sense: Joel and Mei Lin

While some fans are happy to see Joel finally moving on and beginning to accept his divorce from Midge, it does not seem like he has found the next great love of his life with Mei Lin. The two were off to a rough start as they were already having disagreements in the very beginning.

Not only were the two already not seeing eye to eye, but they don't know very much about the other one as neither of them are eager to open up. Joel even admits to Mei Lin's gambling friends that he really doesn't know anything about her, including her phone number.

Perfect: Rose and Abe

Abe and Rose are not the lovey-dovey type, and that is okay as it seems to be working for them. Even though the couple is rarely seen being affectionate towards each other, they have proven time and time again that they are committed to their relationship.

Abe flew all the way to Paris to get Rose back and then got her enrolled in art classes at the university. Rose has done her fair share of keeping the marriage together as well since she was the one to bail Abe out of jail even though she didn't love his new lifestyle choices. The two are the marriage beacon of hope in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
