An Easter egg in the trailer for Marvel's Wolverine suggests that the Hulk could appear in the game. Insomniac Games is developing not one, but two different video games for heroes in the Marvel universe via Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Marvel's Wolverine. The studio seems to have its hands full with these two games, but it may try to squeeze in one other hero in some way in Wolverine.

Insomniac revealed Marvel's Wolverine during the PlayStation Showcase, surprising many fans who were hoping just to see a glimpse of the Spider-Man sequel. There were some rumblings of another Marvel game being developed, but it was anyone's guess as to what it was. Now, it's been confirmed that Insomniac will bring the X-Men hero exclusively to PlayStation 5 sometime later in the console generation. That said, Wolverine may bring in some other Marvel characters as well.

During the PlayStation trailer, a license plate that reads "HLK-181" can be seen behind the bar Wolverine is sitting at. This is likely a reference to The Incredible Hulk Issue 181, the first appearance of Wolverine which also resulted in the two Marvel icons fighting. Insomniac has already confirmed Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel's Wolverine may be connected in the same universe, so it wouldn't be shocking if the developer is building out a larger universe. It's entirely possible this Easter egg is nothing more than a nod to the origins of the character, as other references to the history of Wolverine, such as a poster for Madripoor, can also be seen in the trailer.

Marvel's Wolverine May Feature The Hulk

Still, it's not hard to imagine Hulk does exist within this universe. The Avengers tower can be seen in Marvel's Spider-Man and Hulk is often one of the core members of that group, so it's probably safe to assume he's out there somewhere. Insomniac hasn't shared much regarding the story it's developing for Marvel's Wolverine, so it's entirely possible the Hulk does play a large role in the game.

It'll likely be a while before Insomniac talks more about the game, as Marvel's Spider-Man 2 seems to be much further along. Spidey's next adventure is slated to arrive in 2023, while Marvel's Wolverine has no release date whatsoever. Perhaps the former will lead into Marvel's Wolverine in some way, but these details will likely remain a mystery for at least a couple more years. Insomniac has described the game as "emotional", so it seems like the character will go through a lot, regardless of if he gets thrashed by Hulk.
