Sebastian Stan gave fans an inside look at the making of Marvel’s newest series What If…?. The first trailer for Marvel Studios’ first animated series dropped earlier this week, increasing the high level of anticipation. Most of the main MCU actors and actresses reprise their roles in the animated series, including the late Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa.
What If…?, an MCU animated anthology series that seeks to answer the titular question, fully delves into the multiverse. The series takes pivotal moments from the MCU and turns them inside out, creating crossovers between unlikely characters and chains of cause and effect that would be otherwise impossible in the main MCU timeline. For example, the first episode will explore what would have happened if Peggy Carter took the super soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers. In addition, the series promises stories that remix beloved MCU characters including Doctor Strange, Loki, Bucky Barnes, and more.
Sebastian Stan, who portrays Bucky Barnes in the MCU, recently posted a funny behind-the-scenes video from the taping of What If…? to his Instagram. In the video, Stan clipped together a montage of hilarious moments from outtakes of his voice acting for the series. The clips include him making funny noises while pretending to fight, run, and get “frustrated.” Check out the video below:
Stan himself is a veteran of the hilarious BTS inside scoop. Earlier in the year, Stan had been taking fans behind the curtain of the indie romance film Monday. Scrolling through his Instagram, you’ll also find some funny BTS photos and videos of the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, featuring co-star—and fan-favorite partner in crime—Anthony Mackie. Most recently, he shared some BTS photos that went viral of his drastic transformation into Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee for the upcoming Hulu miniseries Pam & Tommy. He has also shared some inside looks at his drumstick twirling skills and other funny behind-the-scenes moments with co-star Lily James.
Now MCU fans will be able to enjoy even more Sebastian Stan content upon the release of What If…? Most likely, they will be able to see Bucky Barnes in situations he’s never been in before—maybe even as someone other than the Winter Soldier. Given the projects Stan has on the horizon, such as the female-led espionage action film, The 355, fans can only hope for more BTS photos from the charming and hilarious actor.
What If…?, Marvel’s first animated series, premieres August 11 on Disney+, with new episodes streaming on Wednesdays.
