Marvel has unveiled the awards campaign posters for WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Marvel officially made their first foray into the streaming world this year when WandaVision debuted in January to critical acclaim. The Elizabeth Olsen led series holds a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and stayed relatively consistent throughout its nine episode run. Fans, too, found the genre busting series a fun break from the typical Marvel format. Helping it's reception was the fact that it was Marvel's big return to screens after a year of delays that saw no new content in 2020, the first time since 2008 an MCU project hadn't been released in a 12-month period.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier premiered to similar acclaim and was praised for its topical examination of racial dynamics and what it means to be a hero. That show also holds a relatively high score on Rotten Tomatoes, holding steady at 89%. Still, Falcon and the Winter Soldier's finale divided fans and critics and is the lowest rated entry in the series' six episodes. Marvel has made it clear they are making a play for the Emmy's this year and first up will be both of their inaugural streaming series.

The studio unveiled the first two For Your Consideration posters for both series (via Isso é Veludo). Both posters follow the typical format of FYC images with quotes from various publications shining a light on all the praise heaped upon both series. The posters also prominently feature the entire casts of both shows, with the main headliners shown above the supporting players.

Marvel is doubling their chances by running WandaVision in the Best Limited Series category and Falcon and the Winter Soldier in Best Drama. This will avoid competition between the two in these categories as well as leave room in the acting categories if Marvel decides to run the performers. It seems WandaVision may have the best chance of scoring at least a nomination and the same goes for Elizabeth Olsen as one of the titular characters of that series. How well Falcon and the Winter Soldier will fare is up in the air, especially after its divisive finale.

Marvel is no stranger to awards campaigns. They've consistently run many of their films in the hopes of Oscar glory. Black Panther fared the best, scoring three wins at the 2019 Oscars. Avengers: Endgame was nominated for Best Visual Effects at the 2020 Oscars, but ultimately missed out on the award. Luckily, if either WandaVision or Falcon and the Winter Soldier miss out this year, Marvel has plenty of other series coming down the pipeline, giving them more than enough opportunities to shake things up when the time comes.
