The Prince of Power, Hercules, is considered one of the strongest Marvel heroes for a good reason, as he proved when he humiliated the Sentry, who is considered Marvel's version of Superman. While Sentry has some of the most overpowered abilities in the entire Marvel Universe, Hercules toyed with him, showing his superior skills in battle.

Hercules, who made his MCU debut in the post-credit scene of Thor: Love and Thunder, is one of the most unique Marvel characters. Obviously inspired by the hero and demigod of Greek mythos, Hercules has a really respectable career as a Marvel superhero, especially due to his long service in the Avengers. On the other hand, Bob Reynolds, aka the Sentry, is one of the most troubled characters who ever called themselves an Avenger. Armed with the power of "a million exploding suns", this Superman-inspired character suffered from schizophrenia and harbored inside an evil, powerful entity called Void, who threatened to destroy Earth more than once. During Norman Osborn's Dark Reign, Sentry was a member of Osborn's Dark Avengers, and that's how he ended up clashing with Hercules.

In Incredible Hercules #128, by Greg Pak, Fred Van Lente, Dietrich Smith, and Raúl Treviño, Herc, his sidekick Amadeus Cho, and his sister Athena, are caught in the middle of a battle between the Olympus Group (an evil corporation directed by Greek gods) and the Dark Avengers. Seeing Hercules, who is wanted by Osborn's regime, Sentry arrogantly attacks him, convinced of his superiority. However, the Lion of Olympus proceeds to humiliate Reynolds, first tossing him around using his cape, then hitting him with a knee strike under the belt, and finally using the Venom symbiote as a weapon. For the entire fight, Hercules cracks jokes and overall it never looks like he is taking his opponent seriously.

Hercules Toyed With Sentry During Their Battle

Even if this was not an all-out battle, and neither Hercules nor Sentry were trying to kill each other, the result is still pretty impressive. While Sentry may possess overwhelming power due to his matter manipulation on a molecular level, Hercules is without a doubt a better warrior, with thousands of years of experience in battle. Reynolds, on the other hand, is easily distracted and relies too much on his powers. Hercules even tells him to "learn to fight like you mean it", which only adds to the Sentry's humiliation. Is not just a matter of skills, however. It is true that, during Siege, Sentry rips Hercules' fellow Olympian god, Ares, in half, but that doesn't mean he could do the same with the Prince of Power. In terms of raw strength, Hercules is at least Sentry's equal, as he proved when he easily blocked his punch during the battle.

Hercules' power levels tend to vary according to how much writers want to lean into his "God of Strength" title. However, Hercules went toe to toe with the likes of Hulk and Thor, who both proved to be stronger than Reynolds. This little-known confrontation between the Lion of Olympus and the Sentry proves that Hercules' unmatched strength and superior battle skills make him capable of humiliating even Marvel's version of Superman.
