Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is a return of the critically acclaimed action RPG franchise. The game features a wide array of popular Marvel characters, all hosting a series of powerful special moves and synergy made through themed based team building. Throughout the game, players will encounter a multitude of powerful boss characters which will challenge both their teamwork alongside their individual skills. One of the most enticing aspects of Ultimate Alliance 3 is the inclusion of "secret characters" available to diligent players.

These secret characters are a select few bosses that can be playable if their respective trial is completed in the Infinity Trial mode. To complete these trials players must undergo a series of difficult combat challenges in order to unlock these characters. The characters in question are Elektra, Magneto, Loki and Thanos. This guide will demonstrate exactly how to unlock these powerful secret characters.

Unlocking Elektra in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

Marvel Ulitmate Alliance 3 Electra

To unlock Elektra, players must complete the "Bad Business" challenge in the Gamma section of the Infinity Trial mode. This mission pits players against Kingpin, recreating player's first encounter with Kingpin.

This trial requires a level 30 party in order to complete it. Kingpin is one of the most challenging bosses in Ultimate Alliance, and with the added difficulty of the level requirement, players may find the challenge difficult. However, to unlock Elektra players simply need to clear the trial without a letter score requirement.

Once players defeat Kingpin, at the rewards screen, there will be a notification informing the player of the unlocking of Elektra.

Unlocking Magneto in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

The second secret character is the telekinetic powerhouse, Magneto. This powerful boss character can be unlocked in the Psi section of the Infinity Trial mode. The challenge players must complete is the boss wave trial featuring Klaw as the first enemy. This trial has a level 38 requirement so be sure to level up your team in accordance with this stipulation.

This trial forces players to defeat three bosses in sequence the first being Klaw, the second Kingpin and the final being Dr. Strange. This trial may seem easy when facing Klaw but be sure to not take any unnecessary damage when fighting the less powerful of the three bosses. The following bosses, Kingpin and Dr. Strange are extremely frustrating and powerful enemies, be careful and defeat them as quickly as possible.

After clearing the trial players will receive Magneto on the rewards screen.

Unlocking Loki in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

Marvel Ulitmate Alliance 3 Loki

To unlock the trickster god Loki, players must complete his challenge in the Sigma section of the Infinity Trials. Loki's trial is another boss wave mission that pits players against the entire Black Order in sequence. To engage in this trial players will need to meet a level cap of 45. Be sure to level up your party to meet this limit and perhaps surpass it in order to stand a chance against these powerful bosses.

This trial makes the previously mentioned ones look like easy mode. Players must defeat Ebony Maw, Supergiant, Cull Obsidian, Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight, one after another. Each of these bosses are formidable foes in their own right, and when facing them one after another, many players may grow discouraged or frustrated at the trial. The best advice to overcome this trial is to level up your party beyond the level limit in order to overwhelm each boss quickly and without much damage. After defeating the Black Order, players will be rewarded with the fan-favorite villain, Loki.

When completed players will be notified of Loki's unlocking on the Rewards screen.

Unlocking Thanos in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

Thanos wielding the Infinity Gauntlet in Marvel Ultimate Alliance

The last secret character is the titan Thanos, the final and most powerful boss in Ultimate Alliance 3. To state that this is the most difficult character to unlock would be an understatement. Thanos's trial can be found in the Lambda section of the Infinity trials and is labeled as the Black Order trial. This mission, similarly to Loki's, requires players to overcome all of the Black Order in sequence. However, this trial requires a level 65 minimum in order to participate. This is partly due to the reality that players must fight three members of the Black Order at one time, on top of facing a horde of minions.

To overcome this trial, players must face Ebony Maw, Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight at the same time. On top of facing a horde of powerful minions. The best way to tackle this challenge is to defeat the minions as soon as possible before engaging the three bosses. Then pick off one boss at a time. When a boss is defeated, more minions will spawn and enter the fray. When the first three bosses are defeated another member of the Black Order will join until all members are defeated. After wiping out the order, players must face the mad titan Thanos and defeat him before completing the trial.

Thanos alone is as powerful as all the prior members of the Order combined. This requires patience and skill by the player engaging the trial and may lead to some frustrating losses at the hand of Thanos. If you are having trouble defeating him, being more efficient when defeating the Black Order will make the final encounter more doable. The best way to increase this efficiency is to level up your party significantly past the level limit in order to overwhelm each boss on the road to facing Thanos. Thanos is a formidable enemy in his own right but with enough extra leveling, his difficulty will be much more manageable.

After defeating the powerful titan players will gain the ability to play as Thanos in the reward screen. The journey to adding Thanos to the roster of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is a long and difficult one. It will challenge even the most versatile players and may prove to be disheartening. Once complete, players will be rewarded with one of the most overpowered and satisfying characters to use in the entire game, if not the franchise.
