Warning! Spoilers for Captain Marvel #25 below!

Thor's daughter Brigid is worthy of Mjolnir. In the latest issue of Captain Marvel, which sees Carol Danvers team-up with a handful of future heroes after being transferred to an apocalyptic future in 2052, Thor's daughter has summoned Mjolnir at the perfect time - proving that like her Asgardian father, she's worthy of the powerful hammer.

The current Captain Marvel arc takes place in the future where nearly all of Marvel's greatest heroes of fallen. Once Carol is brought to the future, she finds a group of survivors who warn her about Ove, Namor's son who rules the only paradise amidst the chaos - New Atlantis. Her new teammates are made up of the children of her normal timeline's heroes, including Spider-Woman's son Gerry, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones' daughter Dani Cage, as well as War-Machine's daughter Carol Rhodes - who is named after Danvers. One of the most exciting characters introduced has been Brigid, the daughter of Thor, who's initially reluctant to join the fight against Ove but breaks through against him in a big way.

In Captain Marvel #25 by Kelly Thompson, Lee Garbett, Belen Ortega, Antonio Fabela, and VC's Clayton Cowles, Ove has managed to capture the survivors and Captain Marvel. However, thanks to the help of Carol Rhodes (who can phase through objects), Brigid is freed from her chains. Realizing it's her fate to save Carol Danvers, who's currently being tortured so that Ove can gain her life force and travel back in time, Brigid surprises the Enchantress hitting her with chains. As a massive brawl breaks out, Brigid is overcome with Enchantress's demons. As she fends them off, she states she is not her father, but she is worthy, as she summons Mjolnir and transforms.

Thor Worthy

Brigid immediately uses Mjolnir to strike Captain Marvel with a massive blast of energy, as Carol absorbs it and upgrades into a transformed version of herself - with a new suit. It's one heck of an assist from Brigid, and a move her dad would certainly be proud of. It's a great character moment for Brigid, who showed reluctance to be a hero when she was first introduced. She's embraced her heritage but as her own hero.

There are only a few pages of Brigid with Mjolnir, but in that small amount of time, she proves that not only she's worthy, but that she's a total badass. Hopefully, Thor's daughter's adventures continue beyond the pages of this current arc, as she's immediately proven to be an exciting and interesting new addition to the Marvel Universe. Readers can see Brigid in action in Captain Marvel #25, which is available in comic stores now.
