The holy trinity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe consists of Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor, and the only one of the trio who hasn’t yet concluded their arc is the God of Thunder. As he’s about to pass the torch to Jane Foster in Thor: Love and Thunder and more and more new characters are joining the fold, Odinson’s days in the MCU are numbered.

Since the unparalleled delight of seeing a Waititi-ized Thor trading banter with the Guardians of the Galaxy, fans have been dying to see Thor team up with other Marvel icons. So, here are 10 characters we’d love to see Thor team up with before he leaves the MCU.

Deadpool

Right off the bat, it would be an incredibly joyful experience to see Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool share the big screen. Both actors use the comedic nature of their characters to explore very human emotions.

Putting them both in the same movie would allow for each character’s use of comedy as a defense mechanism to clash with the other’s similar tactic. And because the Deadpool movies’ fourth-wall-breaking allows for creative flexibility, there doesn’t have to be any pesky continuity issues.

Wolverine

Wolverine hasn’t joined the MCU yet, but with mutants coming to the franchise in the foreseeable future following Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox, it’s only a matter of time.

It would’ve been incredible to see Chris Hemsworth’s Thor team up with Hugh Jackman’s Wolvie, but due to rights issues, that was never going to happen. A nice consolation prize would be Thor teaming up with the MCU’s rebooted Wolverine.

Spider-Man

Tom Holland as Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Far From Home

Tom Holland’s Peter Parker has been one of the best on-screen incarnations of Spidey yet. What’s set him apart from the versions played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield is his place in a wider universe, being mentored by Tony Stark and recruited by Nick Fury.

Watching Spidey’s back-and-forth with characters like Doctor Strange and the Guardians of the Galaxy throughout battle scenes in the Avengers movies has given fans a thirst to see more Spidey team-ups. Both Spidey and Thor will be leaving the MCU soon; it would be awesome to see the two team up before then.

Black Panther

Both Thor and Black Panther are monarchs. Thor has recently handed the keys to his kingdom to Valkyrie, but he has plenty of experience leading the Asgardians in and out of battle, and saving as many of them as possible from Thanos’ wrath.

It would be fascinating to witness the kind of conversations he’d have with T’Challa, who has recently taken the Wakandan throne from his father and is struggling to adjust to life as a king.

Nova

Nova as he appeared in his comic book form.

Ever since the Nova Corps appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel fans have been waiting for Richard Rider to show up. Richard became the superhero Nova when he was the last surviving member of the Nova Corps.

With Xandar being destroyed off-screen by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, the stage is set for Nova’s introduction in the MCU. And a team-up with the God of Thunder would make for a riveting cosmic adventure.

Sam Wilson’s Captain America

Seeing Thor fight alongside Steve Rogers was always a delight. Out of the six founding Avengers, Thor and Steve were the old guys; battle-hardened war veterans who boldly faced the challenge of every battle and always had each other’s backs.

Now that Steve has relinquished the title of Captain America to his friend, Sam Wilson, a fellow veteran, it would be great to see Thor develop a rapport with the new Cap among the new line-up of the Avengers.

Doctor Strange

Voice Doctor Strange

We’ve seen the Sorcerer Supreme give Thor a helping hand when he wanted to find Odin on Earth, but they’ve never teamed up to face an enemy or combat a crisis. Thor’s godly powers contrasting against Strange’s magical abilities could be a bewildering spectacle.

In the scene they shared in Thor: Ragnarok, Chris Hemsworth and Benedict Cumberbatch demonstrated terrific on-screen chemistry that would be fun to explore further.

Ghost Rider

Whether the Ghost Rider from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. makes it to the big screen or a new incarnation of the character is introduced, it would be fun to see a pairing of him and Thor.

There would be a unique dynamic in the fact that Thor is a god sworn to protect the Nine Realms and Ghost Rider gets his powers from evil demonic forces.

Captain Marvel

When Carol Danvers showed up in Avengers: Endgame, Thor summoned Stormbreaker right next to her head and when she didn’t flinch, he told Earth’s mightiest heroes, “I like this one.”

Some Marvel fans sensed romantic tension and have “shipped” the duo, but honestly, it would be great just to see Thor and Captain Marvel getting into some cosmic action. Brie Larson’s dry portrayal of Carol could contrast brilliantly with Chris Hemsworth’s zany take on Thor.

Beta Ray Bill

If there’s one supporting character from the Thor comics that Taika Waititi could have a field day with, it’s Beta Ray Bill. He’s able to lift Thor’s hammer and he’s even more arrogant than Thor — Waititi could get a ton of comedic mileage out of that.

The director already teased the presence of Beta Ray Bill in an Easter egg in Ragnarok, so an appearance in Love and Thunder could follow that up nicely.
