After the company's restructuring, Marvel Television has officially been rebranded as Marvel TV Studios. Since 2013, Marvel TV has produced shows such as Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter, which both aired on ABC. They also established quite a successful partnership with Netflix in 2015, starting with Daredevil, and then a sea of shows including Jessica JonesLuke CageThe Punisher, and The Defenders, all of which helped produce a total of 13 seasons of Marvel content for Netflix. However, after Netflix “blindsided” Marvel TV according to former boss Jeph Loeb, with a string of cancellations, and Kevin Feige taking a more prominent role in the Marvel company, the writing has been on the wall for Marvel TV and its future.

The launch of Disney+ and Feige becoming Chief Creative Officer, which means he will be leading the charge for Marvel as a whole as opposed to just Marvel Studios, has seen the introduction of a new wave of TV shows. These shows will connect to the MCU. WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will release on Disney+, and they will focus on prominent characters from the recent Avengers films, unlike Marvel TV’s previous shows. When the news broke that Marvel Studios would absorb Marvel TV, it was said animated shows such as Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K would not be affected, but the recent announcement of the Hulu show's cast has confirmed the shift in Marvel TV.

Marvel TV and Hulu revealed the cast for their Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K show, which includes the likes of Patton Oswalt, Aimee Garcia, and Ben Schwartz. However, when Karim Zreik saidm “Patton and Jordan have done a phenomenal job in laying the groundwork for this exceptional ensemble, we’re thrilled to include this cast in the Marvel family,” the job title connected to his statement read “SVP, Original Programming & Production - Marvel TV Studios.” This is the first time we’ve officially seen Marvel TV’s name change from Marvel TV to Marvel TV Studios.

Despite there being layoffs to Marvel TV, Zreik was one of the names reported to stay on despite Feige and his team taking over. Although, interestingly, it’s through Zreik’s job title that Marvel has officially unveiled the new name for the television side. Perhaps due to the focus being on the animated show Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K, they subtly incorporated the name change in hopes of not taking the attention away from the cast and the show.

This confirmation will be bittersweet for some fans, especially fans of the shows Marvel TV produced in recent years, because not only did the likes of Luke Cage and Iron Fist end on cliffhangers, but some shows became very popular, and fans wanted more. But, with Feige’s vision and the new Disney+ shows coming, fans will finally get to see the original Marvel Television’s unofficial slogan of “It’s All Connected” become a reality.
