Possible release dates for upcoming Marvel and Star Wars TV shows on Disney+ are revealed. As two of the Mouse House's most wildly popular properties, both franchises are set to have a large presence on the studio's streaming service. Star Wars got the ball rolling last fall with The Mandalorian, and Lucasfilm also has other series centering around Cassian Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi in the works. On the Marvel side of things, the MCU is set to expand exponentially in Phase 4 with the integration of small screen offerings like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, and Loki (among several others).

As most people know by now, just about all of Hollywood has shut down in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Several movies and TV shows that were in production - including multiple Marvel shows - are on hiatus until it's safe for the industry to resume normal business operations, throwing previously scheduled release dates into a state of flux. This has many viewers wondering when they'll be able to see some of their most anticipated projects onscreen, and some of those answers appear to have been revealed... though there's a catch.

A French PowerPoint presentation detailing Disney+'s launch in the country lists release dates for various Marvel and Star Wars shows. Per the document, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki and the Cassian Andor prequel are coming out this year; Hawkeye is set for a 2021 premiere; and 2022 will see Obi-Wan, Miss Marvel, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk. However, it's also worth mentioning the PowerPoint cites Disney+ subscriber data from February 2020, meaning it's likely woefully out of date now.

The use of February 2020 statistics indicates this guide was put together well before the coronavirus pandemic worsened around the globe. So, the above schedule may have been the plan as recently as a couple of months ago. It's already been confirmed Marvel was targeting an August 2020 launch for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, with WandaVision following this December. However, those two shows are among the many currently on hold, so it's unknown if they'll be able to meet those windows. And though Hawkeye is moving forward with the addition of two new writers, it remains to be seen if it will be able to start shooting on time due to the health crisis. There's talk movies eyeing 2021 premieres will have to move back, so it's possible TV shows hoping to release then may need to be similarly delayed.

Even if a pandemic hadn't put the entertainment industry on hold for the time being, some of these release dates might have been unrealistic. For instance, the Cassian Andor show hadn't even started production yet (due to behind-the-scenes issues that saw Tony Gilroy come in as writer), so it most definitely would not have premiered in 2020. Likewise, Loki was filming now in order to meet a spring 2021 release date, meaning it's unlikely Marvel would have launched three new original shows on Disney+ within months of each other this year. As exciting as it was to read these dates in Disney's presentation, they're probably inaccurate now. Hopefully soon, fans will be able to enjoy all the latest Marvel and Star Wars content.
