Marvel Studios' She-Hulk series casts Hamilton star Renée Elise Goldsberry in a mystery role. With WandaVision wrapped up and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier nearing its conclusion, Marvel is hard at work on the next batch of Disney+ original shows. A solo series for Bruce Banner's cousin Jennifer Walters, a superpowered lawyer, was first announced in late 2019. She-Hulk took a major step forward in 2020 when it was announced that Tatiana Maslany will play Walters in the MCU.

The 10-episode half-hour legal comedy is expected to be the MCU debut for She-Hulk, and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige teased the possibility of many characters appearing due to its structure. It is already confirmed this will include Mark Ruffalo's return as Hulk and Tim Roth's long-awaited return as Emil Blonsky aka Abomination. Marvel has also added Ginger Gonzaga as Jennifer's best friend, and several other new characters should be included as part of She-Hulk's life. Now, She-Hulk has added a major new cast member.

According to Deadline, Renée Elise Goldsberry has joined She-Hulk. The codename for her character is Amelia, but actual details on Goldberry's role remain a mystery. Goldsberry is best known for her role as Angelica Schuyler in Lin Manuel Miranda's Hamilton, which debuted on Disney+ in 2020. She won a Tony Award in 2016 for her work in the musical. Her other acting credits include Zoey's Extraordinary PlaylistAltered Carbon, and The Good Wife. Goldsberry can be seen in Peacock's Girls5eva when it debuts in May.

Hamilton Satisfied

Without any details on who Goldsberry is playing, fans will be left to speculate about who she could be. Goldsberry doesn't fit the casting description reported details for She-Hulk's villain role, so she very well might play one of Walters' co-workers. One such possibility is Mallory Book, the top lawyer at the Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway law offices Walters works for. Book received the title of "the face that never lost a case" after her unprecedented run of victories in the courtroom. She is a friend and rival to Jennifer in the comics at times, although she also briefly planned to destroy her career.

As MCU fans wait to learn exactly who Goldsberry is playing, it likely won't be long before she begins working on the series. She-Hulk was to start filming in March. While there is no evidence to confirm that cameras are already rolling, Goldsberry's addition should signal that it will begin soon if it hasn't already. Regardless of who Goldsberry plays or when the production kicks off, her involvement gives She-Hulk an even more exciting cast.
