Warning! Spoilers for Venom #1 by Marvel Comics below

Marvel's new Venom is having a classic Spider-Man problem, as a new look at his upcoming series shows Dylan Brock struggling to find balance in his life as a hero and as a teenager. In a new preview for Venom #1 by Marvel Comics, Dylan tries to continue on as Venom without his father around and seemingly struggles with being a normal teen in a world filled with villains.

Spider-Man is no stranger to struggling to find balance in his life outside of being a hero. Peter Parker has routinely (and unintentionally) self-sabotaged important relationships and opportunities as he's been pulled away from his normal life when the world needs Spider-Man. He knows that with great power comes great responsibility, but it often comes at the cost of his personal life and allowing him to be an actual teenager. Now, Eddie Brock's son Dylan is struggling himself, as his time as Venom has already changed his life forever.

The next chapter of Venom picks up directly where Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman's last arc left off. The new creative team of Ram V, Al Ewing, and Bryan Hitch will tell dual stories in the new series, with V's stories focusing on Dylan Brock's time as Venom and Ewing showing Eddie traversing the Marvel Universe as the new King in Black. Recently, Marvel showed Dylan was struggling with his dad's departure and connecting with his symbiote. Now, a new preview for Venom #1 suggests things aren't about to get easier for Brock. As Eddie's adventures take him to space against the Skrulls, Dylan's high school struggles take center stage.

The comic features Dylan at high school with a black eye, vising the principal's office. Venom #1 shows that he got into a fight with a fellow student and knocked him to the ground after being punched in the face. Clearly, Dylan is dealing with frustration and sadness about losing his dad, making being a teenager even more difficult - and that's without factoring in his relationship with his symbiote. Brock has it tough and his life is understandably a mess.

Spider-Man always struggled to balance being a hero and a teenager, and it appears that same issue will extend to Dylan Brock. However, after playing a key role in defeating the King in Black and becoming the new Venom in a world without his dad, Dylan is understandably having a tough time with everything being thrown his way all at once. Dylan's time as Venom continues when Venom #1 hits comic book stores next week.
