After a very long wait, The New Mutants is finally scheduled to hit theaters on April 3rd, 2020. Will it be worth the wait or will it be one of those films that should have just remained on the shelves? Production of the film was concluded in September 2017 but numerous delays followed.

The first trailer teased a horror take on the story rather than the ordinary superhero tropes. However, the film was delayed further, first for reshoots (never a good sign), and then to pave way for X-Men: Dark Phoenix. And when Disney purchased Fox, it was rumored that the executives were not happy with New Mutants. They appear to have relaxed their stance and the film will now be released with a PG-13 rating. The cast is full of familiar and not-so-familiar faces. And as you prepare for the movie's release, you can watch the following films that also include specific members of the cast.

Then Came You

Maisie Williams is best known for her role as Arya Stark in Game Of Thrones. In The New Mutants, she plays Maisie Rahne Sinclair aka Wolfsbane, a woman of Scottish descent who is trying to reconcile her deep religious beliefs with her abilities to transform into a wolf.

The 2019 film Then Came After You follows Skye (Maisie Williams), a teenager suffering from a terminal illness who bonds and becomes friends with another teenager called Calvin, played by Asa Butterfield. Calvin happens to be suffering from Hypochondriasis. Calvin helps Skye do the things she has always wanted to do before her death and while doing this, he learns to be the boss of his own fears.

Looking For Alaska

In The New Mutants, Henry Zaga plays Roberto da Costa aka Sunspot. He is a Brazilian boy who possesses the ability to control solar energy. Henry is popularly known for his appearance in Teen Wolf. However, there is another great teen series he stars in that might have whizzed passed your radar.

Hulu series Looking For Alaska sees Henry playing Jake, the ex-boyfriend of the main character called Alaska. The series revolves around a new boarding school student called Miles Halter. He has a pretty ordinary life until he falls for Alaska Young, a crazy girl. She ends up dragging him into a world he had never known before.

As You Are

Charlie Heaton from Stranger Things is in the upcoming X-Men spinoff as Sam Guthrie aka Cannonball. He is an American mutant with the ability to propel himself into the air. Only? This seems like something Lebron James can do too. Let's hope he can do so much more.

Anyway, Charlie also stars in an amazing fil called As You Are. The movie has plot twists that are best understood by simply watching. It tells the story of three teenagers who end up entangled in a web of love, murder, and a resulting police investigation.

Kill Me Three Times

Alice Braga is best known as the cartel leader Teresa Mendoza in Queen Of The South. In The New Mutants, she is Cecilia Reyes, a mentor to the young mutants who also happens to be a medical doctor. She posses the power to shield herself using a protective bio-field.

Sarah Bennani recently played Andi Tow in Jumanji: The Next Level. Everyone has heard about that movie, right? She will be joining the mutants by playing a lady called Flo. Not much is known about her character at the moment. We'll just have to be patient.

Sarah doesn't have many credits to her name but back in 2018, she played Emma in the thrilling film Playing Dead. The movie follows a couple of siblings that have moved on after their mother abandoned them. Out of nowhere, she comes back and asks them to help her fake her death.

Olive Kitteridge

Colbi Garnet will be playing a younger Illyana in The New Mutants. She has been in the movie business since she was four years and that's why we want her in the Home Alone reboot. It would be great if the producers picked a girl as the menacing kid for a change. After all, no other boy can match what Kevin did.

Colbi also stars in the HBO mini-series Olive Kitteridge. The series also features the iconic Frances McDormand. Olive Kitteridge follows a retired teacher who is married to a pharmacist and has a troubled son. Her life is not easy since she juggles with depression and constant fights with her family.

The Standoff At Sparrow Creek

Happy Anderson will be playing Reverend Craig Sinclair in the upcoming mutants film. Craig is a member of The Purifiers, an organization of holy men who see the mutants as devils and want to kill them. The Purifiers have faced off a number of times against the X-Men in the comics.

In The Standoff At Sparrow Creek, Anderson plays Morris, a man who is being investigated for a shooting at a police funeral. A former police officer called Gannon comes out of retirement when he discovers that the shooter is part of a militia group that he was a member of. He thus gathers the militiamen and tries to find out who did the shooting.

Chappaquiddick

Thomas Kee who is best known for his role in The Purge will play Thomas Guthrie in The New Mutants. He is a miner who also happens to be the father of Sam Guthrie aka Cannonball. Thomas is known for mostly having cameo roles but they are always good.

He played a man called Walter Steele in the 2017 movie Chappaquiddick. What a name! The movie tells the story of the 1969 Chappaquiddick accident which saw Senator Ted Kennedy driving his car into a pond and causing the death of a campaign manager as a result.
